Sunday family lunch. Not been since I was a small child who went to school in the village. Menu was pretty good, no specials but a good choice. Eating out isn't cheap these days but a decent spread of options for your pocket. Sunday roast beef was exceptional, plentiful and nicely cooked and presented. TBH couldn't manage a starter or pud. We all enjoyed the ambience and the music and the staff were very helpful and nice. Recommend booking 12 to 12:30 as v popular. Check the menu online if veggie or vegan. A few nice options but always wise.
My family and I love and recommend this pub for superb food friendly professional service best in our areaService: 5/5
We had a room for the night at the boot while we where on the end of season steam Road run, the room was nice and big, really clean, with a really comfortable bed, the decor was really nice and homley, the bathroom was a great size, it was really clean with a lovely walk in shower that was superb. Tea and coffee was available in the room along with biscuits, breakfast was loverly cooked fresh to order, staff very helpful and friendly, as the area was in the sticks we had trouble getting a taxi back to the rendezvous point with the steam engines, the landlady asked her son the chef if he could help, the guy only took us in his own car, we thank you very much for your kindness and fantastic hospitality, we will be visiting again next season. to the Boot Inn and thank you again, for looking after us all as all the engines and crews pulled up for a well earned pint .
Went for an anniversary meal on a Monday evening. Prebooked our table and mentioned it was a special occasion so any thoughtful touches would be appreciated. There were several items on menu that weren’t available, even though it was the start of the week. The vegetarian pizza was 90% cheese and the deserts were undeniably shop bought. The staff didn’t acknowledge our special occasion despite knowing about it and when we went to pay they refused to take our cash because it was a £50 note. It was classed as legal tender at the time. The place was a little run down and shabby so all things considered, wouldn’t recommend and won’t be back.
Thank you for a lovely week's stay at your Inn. The room was beautiful and very comfortable with every amenity needed. Meals were fantastic and staff very frieny and helpful.Rooms: 5/5
Visited The Boot for a birthday meal. Staff couldn't be more helpful and pleasant. Even put up a "Happy Birthday" banner when heard it was my wife's birthday. The meals were both so tasty I took the trouble to thank the chef personally for his efforts. Wiĺ certainly visit again soon, as we have many times in the past before the Oriental flu outbreak. Easy car parking and much outdoor seating with tables in this very pleasant, quiet village, sufficiently far away from the busy A422.
Lovely food and good service. Not enough low or zero alcohol choice of drinks though.Service: 5/5
