bia bistrot is a couple run restaurant.
Roisin & Matthias Llorente guarantee you to be as true as possible to their ethos:

Roisin is Irish with Scottish parents, Matthias is French with Spanish heritage, and they met in Edinburgh in 2000.
Since then Roisin has worked for Derry Clarke in Dublin, Emmanuel Stroobant in Singapore, Michael Deane & Niall McKenna in Belfast, Gordon Ramsay New York.
Matthias has worked for Philippe Chevrier in Geneva, Jean Michel Poulot in Dublin, Emmanuel Stroobant in Singapore, Gordon Ramsay New York.
bia is Irish Gaelic for food, bistrot is the French way of spelling bistro. It sums up what we want to provide our customers: bistro atmosphere and good food.

Best food in Edinburgh ! We visited Bia Bistrot on a Tuesday evening , the restaurant was close to full. Classic interior and food to match. For lovers of classically made food look no further, good honest food cooked to perfection The food is incredible. Service was exceptional. Professional wait staff with fantastic knowledge on the menu & wines. We all loved Bone marrow starter , fresh local fish either Hake or Cod. My partner and I are not usually dessert fans but their hazelnut parfait was delicious. Wine list is carefully sourced, great value. Some fantastic organic options from smaller producers . One of the best places we've eaten in all year. Can't wait to come back

Went in a large group of 17 and were well looked after in a nice space downstairs. There is a reasonable set menu. Three choices on each. The food is very nicely presented. Small portions. Small wine list from £21 upwards. All in all nice but a little expensive.

We went there for lunch with our 3 month old. The staff were absolutely fantastic and very accommodating. The food of course, as always was superb. Will be back soon.
