Great getaway secret. Staff amazing. Glamping pods are proper glamping pods, not just a use of the word like some other places. Highly recommended.Rooms: 5/5
We arrived on Sunday of August bank holiday weekend. To say the site was full is an understatement. Absolutely packed, electric hook ups on top of each other. We had booked a large area for a group of friends but due to an error by the site two families unfortunately we're pinned in the middle, it didn't help that one of these families were not particularly nice or friendly people but happy they left on Monday....which, most of the campsite did. From Monday morning the campsite was pretty much empty. Toilets and showers kept very clean, showers cost 50p for about 12 minutes but to be fair they are good and worth the extra pennies. The only reason for a four star and not a five star is not due to any fault of the site but simply the location of it..... directly below a flight path, with the airport VERY close in plane terms means a constant take of noise every few minutes starting at about 6am....take ear plugs. Site owners came and apologized for the behaviour of the 'not so nice' family that left and confirmed that their complaint made no sense as they, the owners drove round the site at 1130pm to ensure all campers behaviour was pleasant, of which we were asleep. They also agreed that they knew we were not playing football against this family's tent at 5.30am. Word of advice for owners, even after the error of placing two tents right in the middle of the 40 of us you still tried to on the Monday and Tuesday to set up three other tents literally right next to and the othe right in the middle of us, when the site was literally empty....a bit more forward planning on your behalf would benefit. To summarize, pleasant site, well kept, busy as expected at bank holiday weekend, flight path not great but I would return and certainly not suggest not going. Give it a go, recommended to all.
Absolutely wonderful staff! Super clean bathrooms. Friendly residents. Great dog-walking in the area. I arrived early September, midweek on a rainy day and they were very happy to accommodate me and the dogs. They helped me get parked, plugged in, all set up and settled for my first solo experience in the van. Yes, planes are constantly passing overhead, which was fine for me, but I expect not ideal for everyone. Everything about this place was absolutely lovely.
Had a fantastic few days here over the bank holiday weekend. The staff are absolutely lovely. We stayed in the tree house and would definitely recommend it. We have already booked for next year!
