Liked the low key accommodation & breakfast offer. Not sure about the various ceiling bulges - looked like an alien force was trying to break into the bedroom. Great climbing frame etc for our grandchildren, of course.Rooms: 4/5

The food is OK but nothing special. I ordered my steak blue only to be told chef would not cook it this way!!!!! I then asked for it rare and it arrived medium well done!! When I complained they changed it however not the sides such as onion rings so they then got cold. They then wanted to charge extra for fresh onion rings. Eventually this was resolved.

Another great roast dinner at The Star.  As always very booked up and I had not booked.  However, as she has done before Maddie showed a fantastic ''Can Do!'' attitude and made it work for me and my friend and found us a table.   This level of customer service is rare these days but it is one of the things that set the Star apart from other places when busy.  Food was great as usual too.   Thank you.  Terry

atmosphere is nice but the food is terrible. overpriced, overcooked and often lacking any real flavour or creativity. £36 for a steak and chips for the meat to be rock solid when specifically requested medium rare. I'm not sure what happened to this place as the cooking used to be of very high quality but the last few times I have gone it's been awful. will not be eating here again.

Reserved a table for eleven people and were given an excellent table and position.  We ordered a variation of meals, including Sunday roasts, pizza's and burgers.  On the whole, the meals were of a decent quality and of good size. So, all were happy in our party.  Only two things of objection were as follows...  We weren't given cutlery, so had to eventually asl for some and go up and help ourselves.  On the two occasions I  went to the bar to purchase drinks, people that arrived at the bar after me were served first.  However, the pub is nicely decorated and in a charming location, which is why I put up other photos.  Would go back to The Star Inn again.

Absolutely superb place! Was there few times already and it was amazing. Very good food, attentive service and great atmosphere. Highly recommended! Will be back! Thank You!  Food & drinks: Food is fresh, tasty and very reasonably priced.

Beautiful pub. The general atmosphere is lovely and warm. They have a fantastic quiz on a Thursday but be sure to book a table in advance as it gets busy!  Food & drinks: Great selection on the menu and it all tastes amazing! I've been a few times and loved the Brushcetta, loaded fries and fresh Pizza's.

What a lovely quaint country style pub. Excellent service and excellent food,  if your going racing and looking for somewhere to stay, look no further, 5 minute walk, would definitely stay here again..Rooms: 5/5

Lovely pub we stumbled across in Lingfield. Large covered outdoor area with bar service and decent sized beer garden. Kids playground stuff, to keep little ones entertained. Quite popular, so I suggest booking if you're going for food. Speaking of which the food was very good I had the Sunday roast beef. Good range of beers. Only real negative, is the hand drier in the gents...just doesn't!! Definitely recommend!!
