DO NOT BANK HERE : READ ALL OF THIS IF YOUR MONEY IS IMORTANT TO YOU. Worst place to bank or keep your money, Barclays' entire system is based on racism and fruad. I've received regular payments for a few years . Tne one and only time, I received a payment from someone who didn't have a "British Name." My account got locked / froze while they investigated. FROZE because I received money, not because I charged back, not because I sent money, not because I purchased something, it was because I RECIEVED money. I've documented four different occasions of barclays bank lying to me regarding different things. Nobody on their regular support staff can answer questions if your account is in review. Apparently, the reviews/investigations are done by some secret teams that are harder to get a hold of than the president of the United States. Due to my account being frozen, I'm not able to put Gas or Electric on my meters or provide my poorly daughter with medication that she requires. They will let you take your wage out, but that is it. My wage was put in middle of December and i put a lot in saving and because I purchased things and transfered money more than my wage I wasn't able to receive any money at all even though I had over a thousand pounds already in the account before my wage. They will only credit you for benefits or wages, and then they minus everything spent after that. So it doesn't really matter unless you have received your wage the day it gets frozen because you won't be able to get it. There are many more respectful and helpful banks around, and you don't need to worry about your money legally getting stolen by a corrupt corporation. In regards to the payment I received, I have shown them multiple bits of proof that it was legitimate and even provided the person's name, telephone number, and bank details. It seems they just don't want to admit they were wrong, so they will string it out until they can't anymore. Once this is over, I will be removing all my money and leaving. Calling their support via the phone they ask you security questions like what ATM did you use three weeks ago and what was the branch, they know very well that you're locked out of your account and can't see any information so unless you remember every single transaction you have made its a hassle to complete their security tests. I've recored all phone calls and kept all correspondence that have happened so hopefully in a few days I will be able to put them on blast and show the lies and corruption that happens via social media, I've also been told by local news agency they're willing to run a story on it. 0/10 for banking and support.
Outstanding Service & Customer Service. My requirements needed a face to face enquiry. Upon arrival at this Branch I was greeted by a very polite, smart young man. Unfortunately, I would have to wait as it was very busy. I waited about 10 minutes . The young man was able to assist me further. My problem was sorted out with 5 minutes. It was a pleasure to be served by a person who went above & beyond to ensure me he could help. I was fortunate to be served by Jake He is testament to Barclays Bank and the Brand. Thank you to Jake and the rest of the Huddersfield Branch Team. !
Worst bank I have ever had the misfortune to deal with ,very abrupt floor staff who don't seem to know what they are doing. I called the previous day to inquire about Investing in ISA'S , to be told that I needed to come back with 2 forms of ID , the next day I returned with the ID , passport and utility bill as requested . Waited for an hour to see somebody only to be then told that the utility bill I had brought was not on their list, total timewasters.
A very nice bank....and awesome staff esp Mr Andrew Symonds. Found the staff to be very accomodating, friendly and cooperative. I donot really understand why the people have been giving so negative reviews while my experience with them was awesome. They knew the problem and sorted it out straight away.
If I could give 0 I would. I hate visiting this branch as the staff have no idea how to interact with humans and treat you like the machines they constantly try and force you to use. You can't simply just use the counters anymore because they are guarded by staff who are constantly trying to force you to use machines. I'm sorry but there is a generation in this country known as the elderly who can't use certain technology. I've witnessed people break down and forced to use the machines when a simple interaction at the counter would have solved their banking issues. One of your staff members escorted an elderly woman to the machines and all 3 machines would not work for her as is the case with those machines they never work, however it was your staff members comment that made me laugh... she told the lady oh you wouldn't have this trouble if we just let use the counter and informed her that she had to learn the new system. I'm sorry you have no right to tell people this. It was their generation that built that bank. I don't appreciate being asked personal questions about what I intend to do with my money by your staff. If I want to withdraw coins it is not your concern how I intend to use them. Have you ordered them? No do I need to? No it's fine. Questions like that are unnecessary and rude. I have family who cannot speak English or use this technology so I bank for them as much as I can so unfortunately I have to visit this branch. Suffering from Crohns disease and other hidden disabilities I can honestly say barclays bank huddersfield branch causes me more distress than my health conditions. At least with health conditions everyone is treated equally not at barclays.
I wish there was a way to give 0 stars. Non-existent customer service, rude office bots think floor walkers they're called in the branch, truly the most dreadful baking encounter I've ever had in my life. To think I banked with them for two years!! God forbid if you need any help with anything, branch people are unable to answer questions in complete sentences. It's actually more helpful to talk to Alexa devices. Avoid and go to Halifax or Nationwide.
Would give less stars if it wasn’t for the staff. Staff are always friendly and professional. Never enough counter staff on. Usually only one person working it even on busy periods. Machines are a joke and barely work. Manager of this branch needs to sort it out!
Worst Barclays Branch I've been in, 45 minute wait for a pin reminder, staff are unhelpful, some are scruffy looking and they seem to know little to nothing of their processes to the point of Barings Bank level incompetence. I wanted to open a student account and was directed to go online only then to be told I must go into a branch. They will do everything in their power to stop you using their counter service to the point of being rude. If this branch has a manager he/she needs sacking. If there was a minus star I'd be using it. Incidentally, the same day I went into TSB and was seen within 5 minutes for same task, which begs the question, how are Barclays allowing their branches to operate like this?
If I could give zero stars I would... The machines to deposit money hate the new plastic notes. Even if it has 1 minor crinkle which my notes did it refuses to accept them. I pressed my notes in between heavy books for 2 weeks prior to taking them into the machine. I tried many times by myself only to have a rude employee ask me what was wrong. He said that he would try it himself because the notes were crinkled. I am very sorry that employers don't iron the notes and give them in an envelope because your machines cannot accept anything less than perfectly pressed. My hands were shaking because hello global pandemic and I accidentally pressed next before he had the chance to put them in. He pointed this out as well to make me feel even worse. Was referred to another colleague who was also rude and said the same thing like a broken record. I repeated the same thing about people not ironing the notes and she asked 'who gave you the notes'. It is literally none of her business who gives me the notes. Horrendous experience, wish there was another branch closer to me.
From start to finish the whole process was atrocious. After being told on the phone I was supposed to come into branch to have a new card printed after mine was stolen, I was advised, by a horribly blunt woman, that they only print these in case of emergencies. I advised I was going to Paris in 2 days and would need a debit card. I was sent upstairs to wait while someone could come out and help. Several people walked past before someone had enough sense to stop and ask if I could be seen. I was then sent back and forth between staff members as no-one wanted to claim responsibility for my query. Eventually, a woman said she'd go through the necessary form. After a painstaking 45 minutes just to be seen I was then told to wait while they go print the card. I THEN waited half an hour before being told "We haven't forgotten about you, we're having an issue with the card machine..". I was flabbergasted by the utter disregard for a customer's time. The lady seeing me sent me back to wait while they check on the machine, after i advised I can come tomorrow if needs be. She said "No we'll see if we can fix it today". I waited a whole other 20 minutes before trashing the place. I flipped the table and walked out. Barclays? Yeah.. that's cancelled. It's over.
