Ian and Ileana were very kind hosts and made sure we had a great time staying in the bunkhouse. The accommodation is very well equipped with everythign we needed after a long day of hiking, it was super comfy and clean. I can highly recommend staying here and will definitely be back!!!

The most amazing accommodation I’ve ever stayed at. The bed was extra comfy, everything was clean, there was complimentary breakfast food but the best part of this experience were the owners Ian and Ileana. I’ve never experienced a nice sit-down conversation with hosts/owners of accommodation, where they wanted to get to know you a bit and you them. They were prepared with all of the information you could imagine and their kindness and positive energy just radiated through them. If the day before I was questioning whether I could keep on going the west highland way then as soon as I woke up I was filled with energy and ambition and ready to go, which I think is thanks to the positive aura surrounding Balmaha Bunkhouse.nnDefinitely recommend and when I will attempt the way again I will most definitely stay here!

This was such a welcoming and friendly hostel! Ian, Ileana, Elie and family are so helpful, and they have provided everything you could possibly need. There's space to dry your wet hiking clothes and a fully kitted out shared kitchen, and all toasty and warm too. Thank you so much for our brilliant stay :

Ian and family were absolutely delightful and incredibly welcoming. This was an ideal place to stay whilst we were hiking the west highland way in September 24. Every little detail was considered and even though we arrived in beautiful sunshine I know I would have felt just as comfortable and cared for if it had been torrential rain!nnWe stayed in the 4 bed room, it was small but felt cosy and had a lovely modern bathroom.nnThe communal space was well catered and comfortable, great to get chatting to other travellers!nnThanks so much for your hospitality!

We stayed here for one night after a rainy day on the West Highland Way. Ian and his daughter were super kind and welcoming! Everything is very well organized providing a clean, warm and especially cosy stay. Thanks to their effort, we were able to continue our hike next day rested, well fed and with dry clothing. Couldn't have been better!
