Shockingly Poor service. No apology. The attitude is "We are the richest company in the world, and losing your custom ain't gonna change that." Read all the 1 start reviews and you will get the theme. Slow, promises made, not kept. Waiting all day, then they say they can't do it, coming back, waiting all day again. Tried to call the store - no one ever answers. Interesting they one of the other reviewers was scammed with the water damage theme. They tried that on me a few years ago. Little did they know I had photos of the inside that were not the same as the ones they showed me of the alleged damage - now how could that happen? When I challenged the validity of those photos, they decided to send me a brand new phone, no questions asked, no fee. And I had not even bought it new This was another apple store a few years ago and it sounds like great service, but you have to wonder what the motivation was - one minute they want to charge me £100's to repair water damage, next minute they are giving me a new phone for free. This was iPhone6 max "bend gate".
It's good to be able to test psychically the Apple devices. It's different than seeing them online. The personnel was polite. Mostly youngsters. Don't know how much real experience they have with these products, but probably they're just trained. Anyways, it was a pleasant experience.
Thank you Dale for your patience and caring support in buying my new phone…it was very much appreciated! Not being technically savvy, you gave confidence and understanding to secure the setting up / transfer from my old phone was successful, especially by passing on your extensive knowledge. Thanks also Nicky, the floor manager, for supporting during the process.
Popped in yesterday and greeted as usual, the member of staff was very helpful in helping me setting up and transferring from old iPhone to new iPhone and made me comfortable in the waiting zone, he even booked me in to see a techie person and here it is that everything falls down, my appointment was never met after waiting over an hour, so I had to go and find him to ask why I hadn’t been seen, anyway as the tech guys were busy I had to wait another 15 minutes, finally got to see someone and went through a few issues and also looking to buy another product, which I thought was resolved, unfortunately it cost me more in the car park as I overstayed. It wasn’t until I got home that I then found out that I could receive any emails and couldn’t receive any verification codes. Luckily the Apple helpline support was still open and after spending 40 odd minutes with remote access all the issues were resolved, shame that being face to face with someone in store said it’s good to go, without actually checking that it was.
Non-genius Bar Staff practically has zero knowledge of electronics. I have been apple user since 2010 and most of family members use same. This month I updated my iPhone 12 Pro and earpiece stopped. Next day another family member updated and same happened. I took it to Apple store and lady came and her excuse was that it’s not in warranty and threatened me that if you wanna take your phone sign on form or we will keep. I asked her if I can speak to a senior staff. She came with another fellow after 10 minutes who was reading same story. My both phones are immaculate and scratch-less condition. Never had any issue before. If Apple update has caused an issue then why cannot they resolve. I have all paper work and will take legal action. .
Visited several times over the last year to try to make purchases. Have never managed to get anybody to serve me. Too few staff, too many customers. I know Apple doesn’t believe in the “pay at the till” model, but the system they have just makes things completely chaotic with all the staff time - as far as I can see - being taken up by people who just want to have a chat.
Happy with my new phone but didn’t find the support in store very useful. I felt I was made to feel slightly stupid and when I asked about excess charges on insurance plans the staff member was irritable. Very expensive as have to pay separately for a charger, standard for apple though.
This is a shop that doesn't have a conventional counter. You have to stand around looking for an assistant who will help you, but it seems to work, more or less. We arrived 10 minutes before our "Genius Bar" reservation, only to be told that we couldn't be booked in more than 5 minutes before our appointment, so we sat around for 5 minutes and then collared another assistant, who sat us at a table, booked us in and said someone would be with us shortly. 5 minutes after our alloted time our "genius" arrived and dealt very efficiently with our technical problem. I suppose if you're young and tech-savvy this approach is normal, but to an oldie like me it is a bit of a shock to the system. Anyway, it worked, so I'm not complaining, just advising you - if you've not visited an Apple store before - to expect a different shopping experience.
This being my first time visiting the Genius Bar, It is shocking to see how small you are made to feel. You are seated on stools in the middle of the store surrounded by big money purchases and a b*llshit presentation on how to use Apple Maps at the back of the store. With around 15 staff selling product and only 4 working on the Genius Bar, I waited an hour after my scheduled appointment time to be seen to, only then for the ‘geniuses’ to charge me half the original retail price in repairs.
Went to this shop to have the battery changed on my wife's iPhone. They were very efficient and despite being busy we were told to come back with the phone in 45mins when there would be a technician available. We called back, and handed in the phone a technician tested the battery and told us the battery was 82% and told us if we wanted a new battery it would be £49 we agreed to the price and were told to call back in 30mins. The job was completed on time. I would have no hesitation in recommending this shop.
