Great place for a gig in a very cool venue. Brilliant location right in the heart of Southampton. Looks larger than it does on the outside there is always plenty of space. Seen a few shows here last winter, and one last month, the sound could be better but still great. Not the cheapest, but a bar is available too.
Lovely venue, sound could be better but it's an old school gig venue. Security staff were brilliant and very friendly. Very pleased that bar now has tribute compared to last visit when it was just horrible larger.
Had a great gig seeing Saxon British heavy metal at its best... Nice venue .. shout out for the security staff really helpful will be back for another gig...
Such a great venue. Highly recommend coming here. Everyone was so lovely and helpful especially the security and bar staff. Getting drinks was so quick and easy, didn't have to wait at all and they were all very polite. I even had a chat with the Assistant Manager who was happy to have a laugh and was very friendly when I asked a question and made sure my evening was memorable. She is a credit to Guildhall. First time I have ever been here and I will definitely be returning. Highly recommend.
Good place for a gig. Could do with a major revamp though inside as is quite dated and ugly looking. The staff are friendly and helpful. Plenty of eating places nearby to go for dinner before a gig.
Easy to access, good parking fairly close by, the entrance lobby is a good size, bar is relatively expensive, but within range for a venue of this type. I went to a rock/heavy metal concert and stood in stalls, the circle seemed a long distance from the stage! The acoustics are not great probably due to the height of the ceiling, but that said I've been to far worse venues and heard far worse acoustics too. Fir its ease of location and the bars/eateries close by it is a good venue that I will return in the future.
A great venue, small capacity but able to draw fairly big names in for tours. Gives people of the south an opportunity to see some good bands, efficient with getting people through the door. Photos of recent DMA’S gig
It's an old building. It is acoustically sound for live bands However it does very hot when at full capacity. Don't think they have air con. They could also do with having ATM installed as some merchandise stalls take cash only. It's about 10 min walk to nearest cash machine. toilets could do with upgrading as they often block when used at a maximum capacity venue.
Great experience seeing Counting Crows. My only complaint would be the lack of soft drinks at the bar in the foyer. Not everyone wants a pint of Carling.
Amazing gig by Black Veil Brides, and the venue was great when we got in. Access was very poor though, queued round the block to get in.
