Booked a trip to manchester airport for my wife this morning sunday 6/11/22 via app couple of days ago......fixed price quotation £85 received via email. Eventually managed to confirm booking yesterday via telephone not an easy task...quoted £90 ???. Journey completed this morning....£108 ???????.Apparently she has been put on a meter!!!! Tried to call to query it ,unable to get to speak with a human,just a ridiculous automated system that's about as fit for purpose as a plastic fireguard. First and LAST time we use this company....I would rather pay another company double or walk in future. An email has been sent to the gentleman who originally quoted a price but is not back in the office until tuesday to request an explanation/refund of the additional £23.
Shocking service tonight. We booked it 2 hours in advance over a robotic system on the phone and had it confirmed. I called and managed to get put through to the driver 20 minutes after it was due to arrive and instead of answering my query as to when he would arrive he asked where our destination was. I told him and he put the phone down. I called again and managed to get through to an operator called Fiona who stated he had cancelled the job as he is allowed to do this as he is self employed. We were not given an explanation or a heartfelt apology. I fully believe he cancelled because it turned out to be not a big enough job for him. I asked for his taxi plate number and Fiona stated this would breach data protection. She also stated she would not be calling him to ask him for an explanation or to return to pick my family up stood in the cold. I was given a generic email address to complain to which Fiona stated would get me through to Leeds Taxi licensing. Absolute dog's dinner of a company that has got too big for it's boots and has lost touch with what it means to give kind customer service. In the end we booked an ÜBer, as at least you know where you stand with them and they come when they say they will.
Ordered a taxi from Leeds Bradford airport 2 weeks in advance. Arrived on time to find no taxi waiting. Waited 30 minutes then rang the office. Sorry, we will be with you in 10 minutes. 30 minutes later and still no taxi. Absolutely shocking service. Will NEVER use Amber again. BTW I had to give them 1 star as there are no scores less than 1 !!!! Next time we will walk. It will be quicker
I was in Leeds from Saturday to Tuesday and used Amber Cars on several occasions. Their automated booking service works really well. The drivers are smiley, friendly and polite. Including getting out of the car to open the door for passengers and helping with luggage. I'd recommend them to anyone visiting or living in Leeds.
Appalling both as a customer when I have used them in the past and as another road user recently. So today I went to my doctors surgery. I have a blue disabled parking badge and parked in a disabled bay to have to struggle then to get my things in and out of the car because an Amber Cars taxi decides to park on the foot path and disabled bay without a badge causing very dangerous situations. I couldn’t get on the footpath to walk into the doctors surgery. I took a photo of the car and how he was parked because he had a total disregard for anyone else and their safety. He then decided that parking like this wasn’t bad enough and that he would also start shouting at me and being rude! Extremely unprofessional and gives the firm a bad name!
New to Leeds as visiting St James's Hospital for 1st time so used Amber about 4 times today. Each time the drivers were friendly & very helpful my lad uses a wheelchair. They were prompt & on time and the cars were clean, tidy & comfortable. Would highly recommend & definitely use again if over this way again
Drivers very friendly helpful, don't rip you off you feel safe drive properly and with care. Leeds was nice busy but nice. This company gets booked up in rush hour wait but prebooking helps. Do hotels as well. Highly recommended
Really shocked by the audacity of one of the drivers of Amber Cars a week ago. The only reason this review is a week late is because I thought I’d go through the proper channel to complain first, get no response within the 5 working days they promised. I booked a journey for my grandparents which was on my card which I didn’t tell them. Upon the arrival at their destination they asked the driver how much? To which he replied “just call it a tenner” to my shock as he will have known it was card payment, I am disgusted that they have been scammed by this driver and the company haven’t replied to this even now. Will not be using again .
Usually a massive wait and several phone calls but tonight I was lucky. 5 minutes and Mr Ansar was there with the trusty Toyota Corolla! Absolute gent with an immaculate car and a great passenger seat side manner! A credit to the company so please let him have a paid day off to spend with his family! He deserves it! If you're too cheap Amber then let me know and I will cover the shift! Genuinely!
If I could give 0 stars I would. Amber cars are the most unreliable taxi service I have ever used. If you want to be picked up at a certain time book it for half an hour before but even then cross your fingers. Would not recommend.
