The fried chicken thigh that's comes with some of the dishes is really good. Light crispy skin and tender and juicy inside. All the rice and noodle dishes we tried were all very tasty. The portions are big. You can't really tell from most of the photos but everything is a bigger portion than you would normally expect. I would consider this a good interpretation of Chinese food. Not particularly westernised.
This was a really good restaurant! All the food we ordered were absolutely delicious and well presented! We sat at a big round table with a movable centre! There were 7 of us and we ate well for a gold price! Our waitress, Sky, attended to us well and was very caring throughout! Loved our visit here! There are vegetarian and allergen options available.
Honest review….I struggle to understand how this restaurant has had such glowing reviews. Maybe because it was a Sunday night? It wasn’t even busy and the food took ages to come out. Then it was served to half of the people on the table, we had to remind the waiters to bring the other half out. Same happened with the drinks. The food was mediocre…I mean, it wasn’t the best Asian cuisine like people are raving on about. I’ve been to a lot of Chinese restaurants. It’s average. We had to chase the bill down maybe 3 or 4 times to pay. Probably could have walked out of there without paying they were that oblivious. The other factor that baffled me was why they had a thesis for a menu. Look at it. You spend 20 minutes just trying to figure out what to order. They need to slim that down. Maybe we just got unlucky with the timing and shift pattern with the waiters but was very surprised to see so many great reviews given the experience we had.
Tasty food and friendly service! Came here on a Wednesday evening for the hainannese chicken but was unfortunately sold out. I had beef tendon and brisket with rice and a red bean iced drink. The food is flavourful, portion is big for an affordable price. The tendon is soft almost melts in your mouth, totally recommend this dish. The red bean drink is a bit too sweet for my liking, if you like evaporated milk, you’re going to love it! The place was very busy during evening, there’s plenty options to choose from on the menu and the vibe is great, all the staffs are super nice as well! Plus, they gave you free prawn crackers!
Amaysia Restaurant, Newcastle Chinatown What's better than having family and warm homely food in a cold country, especially when you're already missing Malaysia? haha.. I know it's been a short while only, but I really miss Malaysia's food! The owner of Amaysia happens to be from Penang, and the cuisine served was pretty darn good! Ah.. Having Soya Cincau, some Teh Ais… whoa, hands down, good stuff.. And the fried chicken wings were crisp and delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our Mala Hotpot. With quality ingredients, premium beef slices and lotus roots, it was great food and great family time. It's lovely to know that we have food in Newcastle that has very much semblance to home. Even better to be having family around us. I'll definitely be coming back for more.
Went here on a date with my girlfriend. Really busy had to wait a few minutes to get in, amazing service though, large portion sizes, fairly cheap for a restaurant. Good menu and interior design. Would recommend
Nice and cosy restaurant on Chinatown, close to St James Park. Good for the family, Sea Bass meal was nice, likewise the King Prawn Black Sauce. Good night out. You have to book your table though.
Pure banging this place massive portions ordered way too much food. The menus are as big as the bible so there's definitely something for everyone
Freshly prepared nice food with undoubtedly the largest menu I’ve ever seen at a restaurant. Not enough staff for the business on the night but they were as attentive as possible and drinks were brought promptly. Overall still an enjoyable authentic pan Asian dining experience given the atmosphere and portion sizes!
Post show meal last night, huge menu choice and some nice photos to help decide. Good portion size, fresh ingredients and preparation and full of flavour. My wife and I pigged out. Friendly waiting staff, quick service. Would return.Food: 5/5
