This is how I imagine Soho was 20years ago. It's fairly grungy and attracts a very mixed crowd. There are regular small gigs including a couple of cross dressing lads see pbotos belting out classics
One of the last true dive bars in London. Run by Max, one of the last truly great figures on the London indie music scene. Historic, hip, chaotic - the Alley Cat will be missed when it's gone and replaced with a pointless vape shop, or whatever it is the council think they can screw more money from instead.
Hidden down some metal steps on Denmark street, this place is dark, dingy dive. Rarely busy, occasional live music, and yet... there's something to love about this place. Open late, it's a nice place to go after the pub. I've always enjoyed my time here with friends, and the staff are friendly.
A fun little underground bar for gigs and the odd rock night. Can get really busy on popular nights but it gets a good atmosphere and it's easy to pop outside for some air. A good alternative to the Fox now it's closed.
Located underneath where the famous Regents Sound Studios is located, this small bar provides an excellent environment for the blues. Every wednesday night there is a jam session with some of the best blues musicians in London. Yet anyone can go up and jam, no matter what experience you have. The host, Sam, is a very nice and helpful fellow.
Nice little venue however, drinks were painfully overpriced. I'm not one to complain but, it equated to £8.00 for a pint of beer. Also, the women's toilet can best be described as a sort of "Twin Peaks nightmare" but, I'm undecided whether this is a positive or negative...
Lovely little bar, ok drinks not a lot of choice but the music is always good and varied. also has TVs outside so you can watch the band if you step out
Cool little underground venue on the historical Denmark St. Good variety of music, with acoustic acts and full rock bands. As much fun to see bands here as it is to play here - will definitely be back!
Very cool place. It was my second time and the crowd was great, prices very good considering the location and the gentleman at the door was very helpful. We had loads of fun. Thank you!
Expensive beers I think I was taken advantage of as an out of towner I mean £4 for a small beer?!? The music in this underground bar was hit and miss. But all round quite alright if you happen to be in the area and looking for what I just described. P.S. £5 cover charge for the live music.
