Small but perfectly formed live music venue. Comfortable and classy with a fabulous sound system, decent toilets and a nice chill out area at the back. Good natured security and bar staff really help the atmosphere. Highly recommend.
Saw Joey Landreth here.. first time I've been to Bordeline.. impressed with the bar prices and intimacy of the venue.. but for some god awful reason the place smelt so strongly of sewage up until the main act thank God! ... sound was brilliant... would definitely return to this venue!
Excellent music venue which has been renovated recently. Great sound and set up. Always has a quality line-up of unique bands. Good selection of beers and other drinks on the bar. Everything is well kept including the bar, the seating area and most importantly the toilets which are always super clean. This is one of my all time favourite music venues in London. Highly recommended.
Really enjoyed this venue, helped by the fact that the band Low cut Connie were fantastic. The sound and lighting were great. Even the warm up act sounded tremendous, not always the case. The beers were typical London prices & were served in thick plastic glasses, not the usual flimsy things. The beer selection was pretty good, and they seemed to stock a decent range of spirits. Staff on the door could have been a little friendlier, but it's a minor gripe. The venue itself is quite compact which gives a great atmosphere & as other reviews have stated you can he right up to the stage. Already booked the next gig there...
We visited The Borderline on it's opening weekend since it's relaunch last week, it has had a big refurbishment including new sound system, bar and general interiors. The venue flows better and feels clean and modern. Great drinks at reasonable prices and it also now has a great seating area, which the venue lacked previously.
So much love for this little music venue. The stage is tight. The crowd is close. The bar comes as a set. Not to mention that the acoustics are off the chart. You'll get close, you'll get sweaty, some random patron will slip you their number before you find a random armpit in your face... And you know what? You won't care. That's how good of a time you'll be having. It's a small music venue that knows how to do it right. If you're a music fan, you owe it to yourself to catch a gig here. If you're favourite band happens to hit it, you'd be a fool to miss it here. Edit: No longer grungy, yet still awesome! The Borderline went through a serious set of renos in the past 2 years that have cleaned it up drastically. Sight lines still remain fantastic save for one annoying pillar, bar is huge and well-placed, and acoustics are great. The hallway to the toilets could be a fun experience in...certain situations, but the clean loos are a godsend in a music venue.
Borderline is a very cool little venue - great bar and atmosphere, plus the opportunity to get close to performers in intimate gigs. Well worth a visit.
Been to this place over the last 20 years and always enjoyed it. My last visit I found that they had done the place up and looks very smart. Gigs being held here always get my interest.
Since the venue was refurbished it’s lost some of its atmosphere- but the new layout is better for viewing the performances.
Cute cosy venue BUT let down by the fact that no food is served there and also the place has terrible customer service. So much for having a phone number and an email....they never answer the phone or their emails!!
