What a superb theatre to visit. We saw Agatha Christie's Mousetrap here. The theatre is the perfect venue for such an iconic play. It is in excellent condition and well maintained. Seating is very comfortable with excellent views of the stage. The staff are very professional, polite and friendly. One male member of staff even went outside to take a picture of my wife and I outside the theatre. Our visit was for my wife's 70th birthday. It truly made our visit a memorable occasion. Thank you to all concerned in the running of the theatre and the presentation of the play. The cast were also excellent. I would definitely recommend the theatre and The Mousetrap.
Absolutely outstanding venue. Amazing how the seating levels are built into such a small building. The lowest level is below ground level. Going upstairs, be prepared for steep. It’s just amazing. Great show the mousetrap, all the actors were wonderful. The venue is just superb.
The Mousetrap at St. Martin’s Theatre is a “must do”for anyone who loves a good cozy mystery, Agatha Christie, or just a darn good play in its 72nd year on the stage. So amazing! Christie lovers will find familiar names, devices, and nods to her other works. The theater and setting are perfect for a classic by Dame Agatha. It is so worth taking the time to enjoy this fun puzzle of a murder mystery. The cast is really great and it felt right in line with a good Poirot. Loved it!
The Mousetrap is an absolute must-see in London! I first saw it as a kid, and now it has become a true tradition to watch it again and again whenever I visit. This iconic play, which started in 1952 and has been running uninterrupted ever since except during the Corona pandemic, never fails to captivate. The plot is a brilliant whodunit that keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. The performances are stellar, and the atmosphere in St. Martin's Theatre adds to the charm. One of the best parts is the tradition of not revealing the ending—so remember, no spoilers! Highly recommend for all theatre lovers and anyone looking for a piece of London's rich theatrical history!
The St. Martin’s Theatre and The Mousetrap were both amazing to see! Loved sitting in the first row/on the rail of the Dress Circle, even though our view was slightly obstructed and may not be best for taller folks since leg room is a little tight both of which we were informed of in advance, so no surprises there. But we felt like we basically had a private booth and it was a comfortable, enjoyable experience! Would happily return to this theatre any time in London.
I would rate it 5. Brilliant plot. The St Martins theater emanated old world charm.. Seats are old and have not been updated just to have you same feelings one would have had in the starting years.. What a person Agatha Christie must have been.. Would recommend whole world to watch this.. We both Sujata & myself are her great fan..
Charming old theatre with great actors, but the play itself dragged. Act 1 was interesting, but Act 2 felt slow and could have been cut down. Would have been better if it wrapped up in an hour. Overall, it was a decent experience, but I left wishing it had been a bit tighter and more engaging.
Went to watch Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap and was good. Had some funny elements alongside some serious moments. You get taken along for the journey in figuring out who done it. Was sat in the dress circle, row E, and was a very good spot to be in, you could see everything. I will say that though that I noticed that some people who were sat in the boxes in the dress circle had a more restricted view of the stage, not being able to see certain areas the characters were acting in. I would definitely say if you are getting tickets for this theatre, try and purchase more central seating and I would definitely recommend the dress circle. Ice cream, drinks and snacks are sold before and during the interval and there is a good range, a bit pricey though. Seats are quite comfortable and staff were very welcoming.
Have been an Agatha Christie fan since the age of 15 and always hoped to see The Mousetrap and it did not disappoint. Lives up to the hype and can see why it’s the longest running play in the world. Well worth a trip to London to see this performance in a beautiful theatre. Great area to grab dinner and show too!
September 2024: I saw Mousetrap here on a Saturday night. The theater is a smaller one but that makes every seat a good seat. We sat in the dress circle section. Highly recommend this theater for viewing a play.
