Allen & Harris estate agents in Stoke Gilford

It takes a lot for me to post a negative review but in this instance it's impossible not to! We submitted an offer on a property more than 2 weeks ago. Since then we left 3 messages for Rosie (the Lettings Manager) and sent her at least 2 emails but not response... shockingly uncaring attitude!

We placed an offer of almost £300,000 on a property which was confirmed in writing, for all communication to then stop. We then had to chase the branch manager (KM) on a daily basis for her to never call us back. This is highly disrespectful and I’m truly grateful that the house we have now bought has been via a far more reputable agent who respect prospective buyers.

We purchased our house through Allen & Harris, so not our choice to use them. We encountered some very unprofessional staff (1 or 2 were polite, professional and helpful), arguments in the open plan office between staff, it was rare for our phone calls to be returned, tried to increase the asking price with their 'incentive scheme' and generally unhelpful. As another reviewer has already said, I have to give 1 star as zero is not an option. If you want to sell your house, you would do better to put a local ad in the John o'Groats Gazette

This would be zero but that option isn't available. I arranged a valuation for a late relatives house after finally being able to get through on the phone. The number on the website just went through to a standard "please leave your message after the tone" with no mention of the business or any details of the branch. The call went ok and I arranged a time for when I would next be in Bristol as I am not local to the area. Despite receiving confirmation emails and reminder texts they were a no show. No call to let me know they were delayed or couldn't make it so I chased them up 20 mins after they were due to arrive and was told the person who was doing the valuation had gone to Bath. No apology, almost made to feel as if it was my fault but they could do the following day instead. I'm not from the area and have a 2 hour drive (if I'm lucky with traffic) so that wasn't an option. I initially chose them as they are within a 5 minute walk from the house. They couldn't be bothered to send someone up to a quick look. I would have serious concerns if you use them to sell/buy your house. Extremely disappointed.

Although the junior member of staff was friendly enough his boss was quite condescending to me. Wouldn't use them to buy or sell because of that
