We went for a nice lunch here last Monday after our original choice of restaurant was unexpectedly closed. So pleased that happened as we had some really delicious food with excellent service. I ordered the sausage and mash with a lovely gravy and my friend had the smoked haddock fish cake and chips. My food was piping hot and by the time I got to the third sausage, it was still very hot which was good. I asked for extra gravy which was served in abundance and was really nice.
This pub is my favourite in this part of Wimbledon. It’s quirky in places and so much fun. The services is amazing and the upstairs outside bit is just lovely. Especially when Wimbledon tennis is on. The food here is lovely too and the atmosphere is great. Big Saffa community and this certainly comes out when the rugby is playing. Great place and I love it.
We celebrated our wedding in the Alexandra on 6 February 2026. We only had a small gathering of our nearest and dearest and decided that we wanted to celebrate our occasion in a tradition pub setting in the heart of Wimbledon, our home town. We selected the Alexandra, largely due to the fact that we had eaten there several times before and had always enjoyed our meal. This time our experience there went beyond our expectations. The food was amazing. I had smoked salmon starter and the steak for main - yum yum. Our guests had different dishes, Home made fish & chips, posh burger & chips. plant burger etc etc.. Everyone enjoyed their food. You just couldn't find fault. The service was first class and the atmosphere within the pub was exactly what we wanted, easy, friendly, welcoming with an afternoon buzz of a Friday feeling. We loved it and we are so pleased that we selected the Alexandra. We will definitely be back and if you find yourselves in Wimbledon and fancy a cheeky drink and a bite to eat, then pop along to this beautiful pub. It will not disappoint.
Had a great afternoon watching the rugby. We reserved a seat and had an excellent view of the big screen. There were plenty of screens so you could get a decent view from almost anywhere. Good selection of beers, the pizza we ordered was very good. Great staff, excellent atmosphere. First time in this pub but we will be back
Excellent Sunday lunch, woth great service. The pub has a coal fire too. Nicole was lovely.
