Totally understandable why they’d have bad reviews. Uncultured customer service attendees and taxi drivers who would shout at customers and cut the phone off. Show up 20 mins late and will turn it into the customers fault. Uber is needed here for better service or potentially to kick them off the market!
Surprised by all the bad reviews! Easy to book unlike Lancaster taxis who never even respond to my online booking requests, got a booking confirmation text and a notification when they arrived. Driver was on time and friendly. Would use again.
Great experience, lovely helpful driver and office admins. I had to get a long taxi ride back late on Saturday night due to an emergency. I didn’t get the taxi drivers name but he showed up within 5 minutes, was lovely to chat too and was a safe driver. I realised the next day I had left my car key in the taxi! We rang the office and they were really helpful about it all. 5 stars would use again
We have stayed at Thurnham Hall these last few days and used 848 taxis to take return trips into the city. Each time we have enjoyed prompt and reliable service with friendly drivers. It's not a cheap journey in and out of the city around £15 each way but we have no complaints under the circumstances. Good service.
That's it I'm giving up on this so called taxi company, I'm totally sick of driver's that don't know where there going even on a simple journey, I get in and right before you get onto the one way system I become their satnav, you shouldn't have to pay for the full journey when you put in as much effort as the drivers, rude, disgusting so called customer service, in future I'll walk. Rating a big solid zero
I wanted a taxi from Lancaster to Manchester for 3am. On the call the day before, I've been told it was £70 as I asked again for confirmation that this was the price and they said yes. Taxi turned up and asked us for £170 , a £100 on top. Probably it wasn't the driver's fault, but obviously you don't want to deal with other taxis as it was late at night and we had to take the loss. Hopefully next time you think twice before giving wrong prices to people or at least real expectations.
Only 1 star as it won't let me give 0 stars for no service as promised. Operator said that you can't rely on the app and you should always call despite giving them over half an hour's notice. Called and said they would send a car and it never arrived! If I didn't see a taxi around town from this company, I would have said they don't exist except the liars in the office. NEVER ATTEMPT TO USE THEM.
Almost got hit by 848 taxi today driving dangerously. Given how they were driving I wouldnt want to be in the back of their Taxi. Not in a month of Sundays. Person driving had to take evasive action to avoid them as they cut in as they weaved in and out of the traffic at speed not paying full attention to the road. Not seen this sort of conduct from their competition,think I'll be going with them next time I need a taxi.
Absolutely joke I booked a taxi yesterday The 14/4 for today the 15/4 for 8am had to ring them twice today and all I got was a load of rubbish from the operator its not the first time that a taxi hasn't turned would of given a zero star but can't they say on there Website they are reliable yeah right don't think they know what reliable is as I said its not the first time that one of there taxis hasn't turned up
My local cab company I use almost everyday they polite fast and very reasonable on prices they take card payments and cars Allways fresh and clean Well done 848 848 taxis keep up the great work
