Great idea but really delivers. A lovely social atmosphere sitting in comfy chairs just like your own living room & kitchen. Pay per minute and have great selection of tea coffees breakfast & lunch foods. Chill out, have a read, chat, play board games even. Forget your silly costa and star bucks prices and come here instead for 8p per minute.
Ziferblat - where everything is free but your time! At 8p a minute. The atmosphere of Ziferblat is fantastic, the area is full of comfortable furniture of different styles, relaxing music fills the air, board games, kids toys and a piano are all there to help pass the time. As for the experience, it's like going to a relative's party and helping yourself to the wide range of snacks and beverages on offer. Help yourself to anything you like, take your time and relax: just remember to put your plate in the dishwasher before you leave. Ziferblat deserves to be a huge success, thanks for the hospitality.
What an interesting concept. You don't pay for what you eat or drink, just for the amount of time you spend here. There's free wi-fi, hot and cold drinks on tap, with biscuits, cake, cereal and toast available too. Just help yourself to what you want and put your dishes in the dishwasher as you leave. There are also board games galore to entertain you throughout your stay. Give it a try.
This place is quite frankly, the future. It is an open plan living room with a kitchen attached to it. Help yourself to what ever you wish to eat friends, toast, fruit, cake, scones, selection of teas, filter coffee. Clear away after you. You pay by the minute 8p in this one currently.
Don't bother with other coffee shops, just go here. The food and drink selection is just as good, but the atmosphere is way nicer. Just like being in a nice airy living room. And it is cheap! Highly recommended, very comfortable, I could have stayed much longer.
The most unique coffee shop I've ever been in. Pay by time, not for the coffee or cake, or breakfast cereal, nibbles, range of fruit tea, even a shower!! 8p per minute per person turns out pretty cheap for a normal 20ish minute visit, obviously more if you take advantage of the board games, lego or magazines. Brilliant, just make sure you put your mugs and plates in the dishwasher before you leave.
The biggest downside with Ziferblat: discovering how hideiously dumbed-down all your favourite board games have become. Seriously, have you seen the new Operation? A blind guy holding the tweezers between his toes could probably manage a few pieces without setting off the buzzer When you first explain the pay-per-minute concept, the reaction is inevitably "ha! I'm going to feast on all the coffee, biscuits, cakes and snacks I can manage in 5 minutes and then pay 30p!". I certainly did the first time I went, but thing is, the place too damned good at making you want to take your time and relax. The charity-shop-chic aesthetic gives you a big choice of comfy chairs, tables and sofas, and everyone is very friendly and helpful in a polite hipstery way. The kitchen is the biggst part really - don't expect it to feel like a cafe or buffet. it feels like the kitchen in a really upmarket hostel, where all the ingredients are free. Hot drinks are great quality, and there's good biscuits, cakes and snacks like bombay mix. The fridge has a great selection of juice, fizzy drinks and milk. You're not expected to do the washing-up. The beauty of the whole thing is that it feels a lot more personal and relaxed than a cafe, especially for meeting new people. You can get settled and do all sorts of stuff you wouldn't necessarily do in 'public'. Want to try sketching somebody? Meet em in Ziferblat and find a quiet corner to set up your easel. I know a photography club that meets there since they can freely practice instead of just chatting. You can rent out a private meeting room in a per-person-per-minute basis, but I'm not sure what the minimum group size is. Not everyone's cup of tea, but you can try it out at minimal risk - if you walk straight in and hate the place, it'll only cost you 6p!
Unique idea, great place but has a bit of a feel of an airport lounge!
Good concept actually done really well. Pay a flat fee ,eat drink an chill. Leave .. Good selection of drinks & nibbles . Better than poxy Starbucks
Interesting concept for a cafe... Food is free, just pay for your time.
