The Botanist at the Albert Dock in Liverpool is a beautifully designed restaurant and bar, known for its botanical-themed decor, charming ambiance, and a warm, inviting atmosphere. Located in the historic Britannia Pavilion, the venue combines industrial elements from the Albert Dock’s maritime heritage with lush greenery, twinkling lights, and rustic wooden furnishings, creating a cozy yet vibrant environment. The Botanist offers a unique dining and drinking experience, featuring a menu that celebrates fresh, flavorful dishes inspired by traditional British and global cuisine. Signature dishes include hearty meat and veggie kebabs, flavorful pies, and an array of small plates perfect for sharing. Additionally, The Botanist is renowned for its creative cocktails and botanical-inspired drinks, crafted with fresh herbs and a variety of spirits—each drink beautifully presented and full of flavor. The staff at The Botanist are friendly and attentive, enhancing the experience with knowledgeable recommendations and top-notch service. With views of the scenic Albert Dock outside and live music often adding to the ambiance, it’s a memorable spot to relax and enjoy a meal or drinks. The combination of its gorgeous setting and lively atmosphere made it a wonderful place for you and your wife to enjoy together.
We visited on a Friday evening. Was a great atmosphere and our bartender Davide made the BEST cocktails, all 3 tasted delicious. We also got free chicken and fries as the order was accidentally put through twice, so was very much appreciated. There was also live music which was incredible. Highly recommend visiting and would come again :- !!
Cozy pub right in the docks, walking distance from the cruise port. Although there is no escaping the Beatles teeming almost everywhere in Liverpool, this pub does a great job providing a respite. They had a decent variety of beer from around Europe, but nothing at all local. We really appreciated the relative calm and shelter from all the bustle.
We had a lovely few drink here before heading on to an escape room. Our barman was lovely and friendly, the drinks were lovely and despite the price the atmosphere really made us feel welcomed. Will definitely be sampling some more of the cocktail menu at some other point.
Recently visited the botanist -Liverpool location on our day trip to Liverpool and the food was delicious and the drinks were great ! Loved the atmosphere and the servers explained the items on which we had questions on and took a few of their recommendations. I’ve already referred relatives who live nearby to try it out ! Would def go again if I ever go back to Liverpool
Wanted to Book the Flourist for My Birthday Meal however shocked to find out the Flourist was closing down on the Liverpool Echo, so decided to book the Botanist it’s sister restaurant in Liverpool Albert Dock and was absolutely A Great decision to end up their with the exceptional Food on the menu. Had a Great Birthday Meal with My Fiancé & Family was absolutely lovely food was delicious massive portions, staff where lovely attentive to detail & Food & service was fast & absolutely Brilliant will be back again definitely with the Fiancé & family, 5 Star LGBTQ+ ‍ Friendly + Wheelchair accessible entrance, facilities, Toilets & carpark.
A venue with so much potential but during our visit was let down by it's food. Would happily have a drink in here in the future but feel if your looking for a really good meal and to spend £20-30 per head on food I'd strongly advise there are a plethora of amazing choices in the City including the street food venues on the docks 2 mins away. Staff were friendly and the manager sorted out the few issues we had with the food. Theme of the bar is cool and it's in a lovely location.
Lovely location, venue is well decorated in the theme of the restaurant. Food was delicious, they have a wide range of wonderful cocktails
This large beautifully decorated restaurant serves fantastic food in the lovely setting of Albert Docks. However the waiting staff could use some training. They could keep an eye on the customers needs & not gossiping around the till or give misleading information. Food beautifully presented, great menu choices & flavors.
So I've been here a few times now and can definitely say the service has been consistently good every time I've been here. The food is good but felt it's slightly gone downhill for me and feel that the meat dishes have been quite fatty and the steak pie which I'd have once said was great didn't seem as good last time I went and the filling was nowhere near as nice I don't know if there's been a recipe change or something??. The cocktails here are very hit and miss, more times than not the cocktails have been good but other times it seems like majority of your drink is 90% ice and 10% cocktail.
