Mixed. The starter was disappointing, order the smoked salmon, it was delicious and plentiful. The steak was decent but unreasonable.
Imagine sitting down at 8pm at an esteemed establishment brandishing the name of the famous Chef; Marco Pierre White... And you wait... And you wait some more... In fact, you wait roughly 50 minutes. And that's for your cocktail. 40 minutes later as in... After the initial 50 minutes you waited for your drink your steak actually arrives. Which you asked for medium rare, but then received well done. And then... Members of your table get their food placed in front of them. For 5 minutes. Then removed! And put on another table, because they got served before you. Your steak knife they give you is actually just a normal knife with slightly wider serrations, and nobody serving you seems to see any problem with the service. That is what a meal here consists of. 1 star is 2 stars too many. Stay. Away.
We had a five star dining experience from start to finish. We were looked after for the evening by a lovely Italian lady Cetty, extremely attentive service but without being in your face. Everything that she recommended lived up to expectations; particularly The Dover Sole which was cooked to perfection and was absolutely mouth-wateringly delicious. Nothing was too much and nothing was rushed. We were looked after by a person who oozed both class and confidence and had exacting standards that match my own. Fabulous setting matched by the service and Food. I can’t wait for our next visit. Thank you Eve Kay
Visited last night for my partners birthday, the food was ok, not fantastic but there was a 50% off offer so great. Only issue was waking up at 3am to be violently sick and then spending the rest of the night and now today as I have had to take a day off work on the sofa as it's closer to the bathroom and I've been having to visit it somewhat frequently since. Please look into the level of hygiene in your kitchen, this is not how I want to feel after an expensive, or any for that matter, meal.
Tried endlessly to contact this establishment. The phone is either unanswered or constantly engaged off the hook! and the email doesn't work although to be fair they say they won't reply. The reviews are awful and I suspect this place is a honey trap for people visiting the arena. Trading on a faded and not particularly good celebrity chefs name and questionable reputation. I bet he doesn't even know where the place is. The menu prices are ridiculously eye watering and unrealistic for a franchised restaurant in a tourist complex. All in all best avoided but it seems they don't want you there anyway. I recommend any where else but here. The Baltic Triangle has some excellent dining establishments.
I don't think I've had such terrible service. Currently waiting for food and it's 1:40 since we ordered. Drinks took an hour to come. Food was eventually brought to our table, and then taken away from us. If I could give 0 stars I would. Edit: And when we eventually went to pay the bill, we asked to speak to the manager, who came over, and granted we were chatting at the till, came and started tapping away at the till for a good 3-4 minutes and not apologise or explain what she was doing, and only when prompted explained she was discounting our £450 bill to £370. No communication, no sincere apology. An overall dreadful experience . She took no responsibility and even used the phrase "I can't be everywhere at once". It's a relatively small restaurant and if you're that busy - communicate that and we'd have gone elsewhere . Anyone reading these reviews please do yourself a favour and enjoy another establishment. You've been warned. See other reviews - it's not a one off.
what a disappointment...... having eaten in a Marco Pierre White restaurant a few years ago we were looking forward to visiting this restaurant but sadly the food was dismal. The service from the staff was excellent and they tried hard to deal with the complaints from various tables throughout the evening. The food however was a complete let down...... my Husband had cod and chips the chips were under cooked, discoloured in the middle and not remotely appetising. The food wasn't seasoned and lacked any real flavour. My dish of pan fried Salmon was OK but again lacked seasoning, I have had far better in many less well known restaurants. Sorry Marco Pierre White restaurant I wouldn't recommend you to anyone and certainly would not be coming back. Liverpool has a wealth of good quality restaurants and yours unfortunately doesn't compete which is such a shame.
Absolutely despicable service. We sat down for food at 8pm. The appetisers took over an hour to arrive. Worse... Drinks took 45 minutes to arrive! They don't need preparing! The service was terrible. We had to ask several times for basic things, like cocktail menus... Water... Orange juice... Bread. The pricing is very high, which would insinuate that the restaurant is impeccable. Unfortunately this is not the case. I would recommend you avoid unless you're actually fasting and just want to spend money without eating. There's a Miller and Carter around the corner. Go there instead.
This was genuinely one of the worst dining experiences I've had in years. I wish I could give them 0 stars. Between the extremely slow service, average food and the terrible attitude from the manager, it made for an overall terrible dinner. My colleagues and I arrived at 8pm. It took them 15 minutes just to take our drinks orders. We didn't receive them until I actually walked up to the bar and asked about 30 minutes later. As I walked up, I passed out waitress. The bartender apologized and said he hadn't received them yet and low and behold, turns out our waitress hadn't even put our orders through - our drinks orders came through as I was explaining what we'd ordered. Are you kidding me? How does it take 30 minutes to put an order through??? I thought that would be a wake-up call, but not was I wrong. We waited nearly an hour more for our first course to arrive. Not everyone ordered starters, but we were surprised when one of our party received her main while we were still eating our starters. It became clear they'd made a mistake when they brought more dishes to our table that none of us had ordered. Not a big deal - except for when the manager came 5 minutes later and LITERALLY TOOK the food from in front of her and placed it on another table. All of us were in complete disbelief. How can you in good conscience put food that's been on another table for FIVE MINUTES in front of another guest without a second thought!? At this point the rest of our drinks begin to arrive yes, seriously. It took them an HOUR But again, if I thought it wasn't going to get any worse, I was again proven wrong. My main finally came. I got the pork belly. The portion size was tiny and dried out. So disappointing. By this point it's 10pm. We finally order desserts it took them 10 minutes to take our order. The dessert was bigger than my main. So confused. After a horrible service, we asked to see the manager, who, rather than supporting her team when they were clearly struggling had hidden away in a back office somewhere. Good job throwing them under the bus. It took her about 5 minutes to come out. Her attitude was the cherry on top of a terrible dinner service. When she finally came out, she didn't even acknowledge us. She just started tapping away at the till. One of my colleagues finally asked her after we stood there for 5 minutes if everything was ok. She snaps back that she's having to individually take money off each item on our bill, as if that's supposed to make up for her sh*tty attitude. She then stops talking again. Finally after another 5 minutes, we all reached our breaking point. She never once asked us how everything was of apologized. She just got an attitude and ignored the horrendous service that occured under her watch. How a celebrity chef is willing to attach his name to such a disgraceful establishment and keep on such a terrible manager is beyond me. Don't waste your time or your money. It's worth going out of your way to not subject yourself to this poor excuse for a restaurant. Side note: I feel it important to mention how incredibly different the breakfast staff were. They were friendly and incredibly attentive, and went out of their way to see how you were. I don't understand how that can be the same establishment.
My daughter won a competition for a meal.for four at this restaurant and we were a bit unsure what to expect. My goodness we were looked after from start to finish !! Food was superb and staff really friendly . Nothing was too much trouble!! We were made to feel special and I would highly recommend it. Fantastic experience- thank you !
