There for a function and the only beers available were all lagers. There was bottled flavoured cider the type full of sugar, the sickly type 1 man serving and young child I kid you not doing the till. After a couple of hoyrs they ran out of one draft lager and less than 10 minutes later the other stopped pumping from the keg. The bottle fridge was room temp the guy said he turned it on at the begining of the party. It was not a good night. Unless you drink lager, very sweet bottled cider or spirits don't bother booking a fuction here or attend one. Food & drinks: Poor drink selection.
Booked a double room, the room was nice, spacious and clean. The only down fall we had was 2 single beds pushed together and 1 mattress was so uncomfortable, we could feel the springs through the mattress. We had asked for a different mattress or room and we got refused, to then be told this morning there was spare rooms available which I wasn't impressed about as we had a bad night sleep. And the TV was so small we couldn't even see the writing in the screen.
The staff can't seem to do enough for you. Whilst checking in I was asked if I didn't mind TV not working as the aerial had been blown during previous nights storm I could be upgraded to a suite. The room is amazing. Warm, large, spotlessly clean, bathroom spotlessly clean too with huge power shower cubicle. Presentation is great when you walk in. All the usuals like tea, coffee, milk and sugar provided and cups and spoons clean too. Unbelievable price but above all so far I have spoken to three members of staff and all have been so pleasant and helpful. A great place to stay although I'm only here for the one night for business. Only a couple downsides are building looks and feels a little tired in the general areas and the restaurant is closed so no evening meals, breakfast or snacks available but there is a fantastic Italian restaurant just 2mins walk away called Prego in which I had the most amazing meal. A must visit too.
Clean and comfortable hotel and I had a good sized room. Staff were friendly and helpful. The decor is starting to look a bit tired. There is also a lack of attention to detail - no bedside lamps for instance, light switches needing to be repaired. But good value.
I really enjoyed my stay here. Very welcoming and friendly throughout. My room was compact but plenty of space for me and the bed was comfy. The bathroom was clean and fresh looking. The temperature of the room was perfect, quite often hotels are too warm. Breakfast was great too, the menu looked good but didn't feel like a cooked breakfast, and opted for yoghurt, toast and a banana. The lady who served me was very friendly and attentive.
Not half as nice as it's exterior would suggest. Basic rooms. But, would definitely stay again as location is prime and comes with a parking space. Got my room for £60. If I'd paid £100+ as I've seen it sometimes I'd have felt very different.Rooms: 3/5
The hotel is in a very good location by the station and it is literally over the road and around the corner from the late night bars. The staff were very good as when I walked in check in was minutes and was very fast. I am very impressed with this hotel. The room was nice, bathroom was a bit small for anyone needing the extra space but doesn't bother me.
This hotel has what I would consider a more traditional look. Room was big enough & well turned out. I struggled with the size of the bathroom. I feel it would have benefited from a smaller sink to allow easier access to the toilet. Shower was amazing. Plenty of hot water at a good pressure. I would like to see clear instructions on wall in room as dial on shower wasn't clear & I did burn myself briefly. A couple of loose tiles on bathroom floor at door need fixing. Mattress was a little uncomfortable but I've slept on worse!! Staff were lovely. Sloane's restaurant is lovely too. Good breakfast. Very close to station & accessible to bars & restaurant's. I would definitely stay again.
The room was small but tidy and had everything I needed. I didn't touch the minibar so I can't tell you anything about that. The breakfast was good and the staff was nice and helpful. Since I arrived late, the reception had already closed and I had to check in at the restaurant next door. The restaurant didn't know about the payment for my room so I had to pay for the room again on arrival. But when someone from the office arrived in the morning they were very open and the problem was solved within minutes.
