They've got the place looking amazing now and is right up there where it belongs. Unfortunately their seating for meals isn't the best when going in for a meal with service. Alternatively you can sit to the right and go to the bar with your request as we ended up doing.
This is a large pub/ restaurant with rooms, owned by Greene King, on the outskirts of Wakefield. Food was very good; but the restaurant was understaffed, with long wait times to order and between courses. The restaurant/ pub area is huge with nice quiet nooks and crannies.The outside area is lovely. Rooms are well furnished and attractive. Staff were excellent.
Great service value for money took my son and two grandchildren so four of us had 4 meals 4 drinks £45. Play area could do with extending but lovely will definitely go againService: 5/5
Fantastic,,my partner and I spent the night here 18.04....such a lovely location..the room was spotless ,the bed comfortable..had a lovely meal at the on site pub/eateries..then a great breakfast this morning..lovely staff,,well looked after...thank you. Rooms: Great. Noteworthy details: Relaxing ,quiet stay.
Dog friendly in the bar area, with treats and water bowls, nice inside. Good place to nip for a drink halfway through walking the dogs round the park :Service: 5/5
Visited here today and had Lunch. The pub has just had a massive refurbishment and looks amazing. Food was great and the staff were exceptional. Huge thanks to Ryan and Morgan for looking after me.
Great setting, lovely interior. Still, still, have issues with the bar service. Still mixed with food orders and totally forgot my coffee order. Had to go back after 10 mins and then still wait for it to be brought to our table.
Nice place gets very busy . The service is a bit slow as a result. Over all not bad . Food & drinks: I had the steak pie looked great till I put my knife in it!!! Then it deflated like a balloon!! Hardly any filling in it ..
Not much on the menu for a Friday lunch..meal for 4, didn't have 2 x prawn cocktail , fish & chips x2... disappointed
Smart, clean, if somewhat basic. Pleasant enough place, with adjoining pub.Rooms: 4/5
