Booked in here mid week on business. Arriving at around 9.45, I was met at the desk by a young man chewing gum, smacking his lips together, mouth open, with a really casual attitude. It was mildly disgusting and completley unprofessional.nnSign in was relatively quick and impersonal.nnThe room itself it tattered and dated. Frustratingly, there are no plug sockets near the bed?!nnThe bed is comfortable.nnThe room hadn't been properly cleaned, and there were food items on the floor from the previous occupant.nnThe shower room is small and pokey, again worn bits around the edges but appeared cleaner.nnBreakfast was cheap and bland.nnOverall, I wouldn't recommend this hotel
Before the last day, I would've scored this hotel higher. Unfortunately, during breakfast at check out, we encountered an issue with staff.nnThe rooms are what you would expect; not luxury, yet they do the job. The shower water pressure is good, although the bathroom was small. The mattress was too firm, but we managed to sleep. And the breakfast buffet covered the basics + gave you enough variety to mix it up each day.nnAfter checkout, whilst we were eating breakfast, staff started hoovering the area where we were sitting. We didn't mind this. It was more that we weren't prewarned or asked to move before she began. The day before, the staff waited for us to finish & insisted we stayed until we did. Anyway, moments later, the staff tried to hoover under us whilst we were still eating. She didn't even say 'excuse me'; she just shoved the hoover in. Finally, she asked us to move. But her tone and attitude wasn't polite. I challenged her at this point, stating she could've asked us to move before hoovering. She countered this, which got me so wound up that I had to leave crying. It took me ages to calm down.nnMy partner complained to reception - who could hear & see me cry - yet he didn't get an apology. They didn't even offer to speak to staff to ask them to be more courteous in the future. Manners and empathy cost nothing. And should be the most basic skills for staff that work with customers.nnOur trip was short notice to visit a dying relative. The last thing we needed was stress and upset from rude staff. We won't return & cannot recommend it.
Really convenient location right on junction 41, but you would never know you're so close to the motorway there's no noise.nnService was top notch, really friendly staff.nnReally clean and tidy, and communal areas are immaculate.nRoom was showing signs of age, damaged electrical switches and sockets and loose lights.nnReally quiet inside despite being such a big hotel, plenty of parking.nnFood in the restaurant was absolutely delicious, but I'd have to say the portions are a bit on the smaller side.
Convenient for travel.nSurprisingly quiet.nI got twin single beds and being a bit hefty they do move a bit which is annoying but I coped. Room was clean.nBreakfast was standard but hardly any fruit
Nice hotel and friendly staff. Breakfast was the usual options and I don't feel it was worth the £10.95. Bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Floors were very creaky so glad I was on the top floor.nAmple parking.
