I have been going to this salon for at least 7 years, had major colour changes and my hair has always been amazing still strong and super shiny. Colour I usually have done with Angela, and blow drys I have had done with all the staff always very good. I would highly recommend. I am a natural very dark brunette, they have taken me to every shade I have ever wanted to be with no damage to my hair!

I visit Y Salon every 6 weeks for a colour, cut and blow dry. The experience and professionalism of the staff is of such a high standard. My hair is looked after very well and I really love the Kevin Murphy products they use at the salon. I’d most definitely recommend Y Salon to others!

Visited the salon for wash, cut and highlights. Quoted £100+ at first but managed to get price down to £90. Hairdresser also offered to do style in hair at the end so decided to go ahead. In the end I was left with an uneven cut and blunt chunks of random hair. Went home to wash my hair later on the same night and found part of my hair had been burnt off from the style, leaving me with a really short piece of hair. Came in the next day to confront and get refund but owner of the salon refused they had done anything wrong. Threatened to go to citizen advice and only then they decided to give me £30 back and do a treatment. They also gave me free hair extensions in the area where hair was burnt. These were supposed to last at least 1 month but they fell put a week later. Would definitely avoid this place.

I’ve been coming to Y Salon for 10 years. They treat me like family I can not recommend them enough ! They’ve bleached me, shaved half my head, give me extensions and any other mad thing I’ve asked for and it’s always come out looking fabulous! They’ve also been super helpful with hair care advice after changes to my body and lifestyle (eg. childbirth, breastfeeding, vegetarianism). Brought my two young sons in for haircuts today and they were fantastic! It’s the only time my boys have ever sat still in a hairdressers chair! Such a good salon. They really look after you.

Have been coming to Y salon to years and still get fantastic, 5* service from all the staff! Never been disappointed yet and love all the products they have on offer - more recently endorsing a fab cruelty free line!!! Highly reccomend to anyone looking for an amazing hairdresser in Newcastle!
