Story

Wrexham Maelor was one of six local government districts of the county of Clwyd, north-east Wales, from 1974 to 1996.It was formed from parts of the administrative counties of Denbighshire and Flintshire. From Denbighshire came the municipal borough of Wrexham and Wrexham Rural District . From Flintshire came Maelor Rural District and the parish of Marford and Hoseley from Hawarden Rural District. The Flintshire areas had been exclaves, separated from the rest of the county by Denbighshire. The district was abolished in 1996, with its area forming the bulk of Wrexham County Borough.

We are blessed to have the NHS services and this evening my son was on the pediatric A&E Department.nThe Nurse,Doctor & Xray department where fantastic with him.nCare was above and beyond.nnIt was very busy as to be expected on a Friday, we where shown in and my son was offered a snack and some juice.nThere are some games and movies a relaxing environment as can be in those circumstances. They handled every detail with care and dignity and even giving myself mum advice on aftercare.n I will sleep tonight.nnThankyou Team A&E Pediatric.
Not enough doctors leading to agonising wait times in A&E. I personally waited 23 hours in A&E without seeing a doctor and was told to keep waiting. Told to go to minor injuries for any updates but they were absolutely awful - robotic and ignorant would put it nicely. Only so much I could take sitting on the rock solid chairs with my trapped nerve so had to go home to rest and come back. Much better treatment on the second visit, an 11 hour wait this time but finally received the scan, referrals and medication I needed. Orthopaedic doctor was superb. Keeping the 1 star review in the hope that it helps the hospital get the resources it desperately needs.
What a great place to go to hospital. Everyone so friendly and helpful. I had tests for blood pressure, blood sample , ECG taken and CT scan done . Review of all this information with the consultant supported by a wonderful nurse . All done in one hour thirty minutes. Thank you Maelor Hospital

I got told by the GP to go to a&e with suspected appendicitis, as soon as we got to A&E we had to wait around 20 mins and got straight through, as soon as i got through to the children's bit in A&E the nurse can't remember her name as it was 6 weeks ago straight away saw i was pale and invited me to lay down in a room, straight away they took my bloods to see what's going on and then i got admitted to the children's ward in the hospital as the consultant who was amazing told me i had appendicitis, on the children's ward, special shout out to Gracie and the practice nurse becky who deserve so much praise, who made me feel so much better about my operation and looked after me the whole time always checking up on me. It's important to say all of the nurses in the hospital work there socks off to make sure your feeling okay about what's going on and you have no concerns or questions. as soon as you get through the wait in A&E which we all know can be very very long, the care is amazing they never let you down.nI couldn't thank the nurses and doctors enough for making me better.
