Wouldn't go again if they were giving good away. My child's meal came inedible, I can't believe it left the kitchen. Requested for new sausages to be sent to the table, they looked much better but pink on the middle, the texture was disgusting and they didn't taste like sausages. The child's cheese and tomato pizza had a spice in the sauce, my son didn't enjoy it & it was too spicy for my palette. My dinner had random bits of rice on the plate, cross contamination from someone else's meal, we visited on curry night. 2 adult meals served luke warm, the pub was empty, not like they didn't hand time to serve hot food! We were bugged every 5 minutes asking if anyone was finished so plates could be cleared. I've never known plates to be cleared until the whole table is finished. Then we had the disturbance of tables being rearranged around us while trying to eat. This was supposed to be family treat for the summer holidays, we all left disappointed and feeling rather harassed. Really wish we went somewhere else. Will not return.
Fantastic food with great service from happy helpful staff. Good atmosphere and there was a band playing for free too. Hooch, a 90's cover band, they were really good, especially the drummer who really put heart & soul into the performance
Went in for breakfast as came the week before and was delicious! This time it was absolutely disgusting the bacon was black but not cooked the eggs were not cooked, sausages were pale and cold and the mushrooms didn’t even look liked they’d seen the pan! The best part of the meal was the coffee. How anyone could look at that and send it out is beyond me.
Popped in for a quick pint to meet a friend . Excellent pint , really cheap . Resolved immediately to come back and eat , as all the food passing by looked really good , and at the menu prices , looked fantastic value . Just adding this :-- Forgot to say that the 2 ladies behind the bar were very welcoming and good fun , not the case everywhere, for sure .
Went for something to eat today at the woodlands edge, which the food was lovely and quick service, but to my shock, horror, and disbelief! A bloody Christmas tree sat inside the restaurant in September!!!! Now I think that's taking the **** are you trying to making people panic about Christmas already? Was hysterically funny I have to say, so if you need a laugh, take a trip to the woodland edge would be no disappointment!
Cheap and cheerful. Good variety of dishes and portion size is pretty good. They have live bands some weekend evenings which is great.
The staff are great very helpful and polite good at their job. The venue is just very dark, not very clean. Tables and menus dirty, it needs some TLC. The food was great.
I have dinner here about once a week. Always tasty, served quickly and hot. Shout out to the lovely staff, especially Daggie who always greets me with a smile
I lived within walking distance of this pub for 2 years. We would regularly visit for the first year and you received what you'd expect for a reasonably priced bar and menu. However over time with changes in menu and management our experiences began to decline. On two seperate occasions bar staff refused to uphold offers they were advertising, on one occasion the bar manager got into a heated arguement with another member of staff, belittling them infront of many customers and it was rather uncomfortable for us and him. Food standards also started to decline, serving cold food, undercooked or burnt and once serving meat gravy with a vegetarian pie.. After the recent visit standards are still low, will not be going back anytime soon.
Food was nice and hot when came out. Nice atmosphere and the staff were polite and welcoming. One of the better hungry horses in swindon
