My family visited this pub with our two dogs for drinks and a meal and had a lovely time. They are very dog friendly, with dog treats and water bowls available on request. We ate the sharing platter, fish and chips, blue cheese and mushroom burger and four cheese pizza and all the dishes were generously sized and tasted really lovely. We'd definitely return there to try the other dishes and would take some darts next time to use the dart board. Food & drinks: Everything we ordered arrived promptly and was really tasty. Generous potions too. Noteworthy details: Dog friendly with treats and water bowls available on request. Also there is plenty of parking spaces.
Popped in the off chance at lunchtime. It was very busy but the lady who seemed to be in charge made a lot of effort to find a table for us, she succeeded. Very friendly helpful staff. Food was good. Recomend this place and will definitely return.
Very nice pub, quiet and dog friendly. First pub our puppy has been in so very excited but staff were lovely. Food was also very nice, hot are fresh. Served in a timely manner.
Not a great success partly due to only 2 staff in the kitchen doing 70+ covers. That said, I can only review what I experienced. The food took over an hour and was OK. The bacon brie and cranberry on sour dough was below average. The bread was mealy and fell to pieces. I asked for some white bread and was given some thin sliced packet bread as a replacement. General concensus was 5/10. Staff were friendly, enclosed play area and good parking means its kids friendly. Is there reason to go back? No, not with so many great places to eat but a pint in the garden after a walk rounf the nature reserve will appeal to others.
Went to The Sun Inn today for a meal, really surprised they are doing Carvery, the food was awesome, meats cooked to perfection, vegetables were great plenty of choice. Lovely ambience great staff who couldn't do enough to make sure your meal was the best.
Had a lively lunch out with the family. Booked to reserve a table as there were 8 of us. Easy and really accommodating, food was lively and not over priced
Never been before but would defo go back. Drove down to visit friends we decided to pop in for a bite to eat . Lovely place, nice food, warm and clean with plenty out outside space. Rooms: Can't rate the rooms as we didn't stay but the pub it's self was lovely .
Pizza was frozen base and just BBQ sauce, Girl on desk did not seem to be interested, then forgot my dessert. Could do better. Seating was also cramped despite space being available.
Don't be fooled by the attractive exterior and magical Coate Water nearby. Please don't come here. Regret regret regret. BOTTOM LINE: Cross the road and get a gourmet sandwich from the petrol station. I came here because I saw "vegan buffalo wings" on the menu, in fact, for £7 this was 5 Quorn chicken nuggets. These and everything else was cold when it came out, I wasn't given any cutlery or offered any sauces or anything, they just dropped the food and walked off. I had to steal cutlery from a reserved table because the sauce station didn't even have any. Then no one came to do a check to ask me how I found it. After I had finished and pushed the plates away so it was very clear I had finished staff served other people in the garden and walked past me 6 times, nothing in their hands without taking the plates or even asking me how my food was or if I had finished. The soft drink tastes like it had quite a bit of cleaning fluid from the glasswash in it, aftertaste of bleach. The burger was gritty and tiny. This amazing and vast spread of a pint of soda and cordial, 5 nuggets, and a veg burger, cost £20.80. So much disappointment for such a high price too? Wonderful. Never again, unless maybe I need a coffee and the nice cafe kiosk at coate water is closed. Nice sitting area outside and quite cosy inside. Shame that the beautiful surroundings of coate water, and a pub that from the outside looks like it has so much promise, is disrespected by the experience it offers the customer. 1 extra point for the genuine and hard working bloke wearing glasses who, although he did pass me quite a few times without taking my plates DID make the effort to say hello and make real conversation while he was struggling to clean the 40 or so glasses and bottles from the garden without any help from the other staff, some of whom were chatting behind the bar earlier.
Lovely well run pub with great food , we've been back few times ; we've enjoyed a sharing platter and a roast. Did i mentioned the food was great ?! Well done guys. Csnt wait for summer braais/barbaques!Service: 5/5
