Just had our wedding reception at the Tawny Owl and what an amazing experience it was. Laura was so helpful and went above and beyond to ensure our day ran smoothly. All the staff were great. Food was impeccable - thanks Chef Derek! The room set up was beautiful. Good prices on drinks. No request was too much. We also stayed the night and found the hotel room to be really comfortable and pleasant. Thank you again to Laura and her staff. Would highly recommend anyone to host an event here.
Nice big pub with the best fries I had for ages. A plenty of seats outside and a couple of rooms in all sizes to have drink or some food. Not the cheapest pub in town but taste and reasonable quality. Five rooms to stay overnight or for a couple of days but late breakfast not before 9:30.
We went with our little dog and pleased to find they are allowed in three designated comfy areas. The pub is open at 10.00 some days earlier currently serving a hot drink with free toast. We visited again for my birthday celebration we hired the Parliament Room it was excellent and the service was good everyone enjoyed their meals. nothing was too much trouble they put on the big screen so we could have the World Cup on in the background.
Big pub, offering and good selection of food and drinks. They sell Aspall cider, which is always a welcome bonus. Big car park at the front, with fair size childrens play park. Staff were friendly and attentive. Toilets clean. Spent a lovely afternoon/evening in here with friends and family. My wife and had the sharing platter, which was lovely and a good size. Neither of us were sure about the chicken wings though. Wasn't keen on the taste or look of them..
Great pub with a great vibe. The bar is always very well managed, you are never stood waiting long. They have a good variety of seating areas depending on what evening you are after.
Went for a family meal, 7 out of 8 of us had various options from the Sunday menu and were each left disappointed. The other order was the gammon which was good. Parking was a nightmare. The staff were busy but friendly.
Found the staff very polite food was lovely when we hide the side room for my mother inlaws birthday. Even put all to the pump to find my grandaughter when she did a great job of hiding during hide an seek game
Visited the Tawny Owl on Christmas Day. Great atmosphere, as to be expected on a festive celebration. Great selection of Arkells ales. Thanks to the bar staff who were on duty that day, they made it a lovely lunchtime event.
After a lovely day's sailing at the waterpark we thought we would walk down to our local pub for some food and a drink. Horrible experience. Constant swearing at the bar. Staff not bothered. Lound drunk teenage girls screaming and swearing. Very glad the children weren't with us. A real opportunity missed to make this pub a destination of choice for the local community. Get rid of the tv's, pool table and the anti social behaviour will leave by itself.
Fantastic pub in North Swindon. We booked the Parliament Room for our wedding party having postponed it from 2020. The room is ideal for small functions with an outside area too when the weather is good. Laura set the room up and let us decorate it how we wanted it. The buffet was amazing, we ordered the gold package and there was plenty of food to go around! I would highly recommend the Tawny Owl as a place to have a function. Thank you to all the staff who were fantastic on the night.
