In all the hustle and bustle of life, it is easy to miss little gems. Anyone fortunate to have visited Silverdale will know just what I mean. The minute you turn off the A6 at Yealand Redmayne, and gently wind your way up the limestone ridge, you enter a magic landscape - old coppiced woodland - limestone pavements - a rich flora and fauna - outstanding nature reserves - breath-taking coastal views from Jenny Browns Point over Morecambe Bay - and a RSPB reserve of national importance at Leighton Moss. As if that were not enough, there is also Arnside Knott, the somewhat quirky Arrnside with its pier, viaduct and stunning views of the Lakeland Fells; and a lovely village to explore at Silverdale. Where should you stay - simple. Wolfe House Cottages are a hidden gem, run by Denise, who has a long artistic association with the area. You are assured of a warm welcome, privacy, peace and quiet. Now - that's the way to unwind.

Desde la primera vez que fuí me encantó, curiosamente en otoño, con no muy buen tiempo, aún así disfruté de un almuerzo hogareño en todos los aspectos, con mis hijas, por la comida casera y sabrosa, los postres, tartas de todo tipo que núnca acabas de decidirte y por la grata chimenea. No es un lugar lujoso, es un lugar CALIDO. Me encanta.
