Royal Station Hotel Carnforth

About

Welcome to The Royal Station Hotel at Carnforth

Story

Glen Pearson and Maggie Dainty had been looking for a B&B or hotel for a while, to complement Glen’s other business interests, both situated in Carnforth, and when the Royal Station Hotel came onto the market, they felt it was an opportunity not to be missed.

“When we came round to see it, we saw just how much potential the hotel had”, said Glen. “Since we’ve moved in we have found that there is so much enthusiasm from the local community to return it to its former glory.”

Glen and Maggie have big plans for the hotel, not least for the large bar to the rear of the hotel, which has been named ‘The Junction’, with a successful emphasis on live music. There are also plans for new kitchens, an outdoor eating area overlooking Carnforth Station, and some radical menu changes, including traditional, home-cooked pizzas and a tapas bar.

“We’ve heard from the locals that this was a very popular venue in the 1960s and 1970s, and we plan to bring back the good times”, added Glen.

The Station Hotel is undergoing a major refurbishment. 8 of us enjoyed a lovely meal in a lovely Dining room. All of us said we would visit again for a meal. Keep up the good work. Many thanks.

Nice place with decent food. Been properly done up since last visit. Highly advisable but I have no idea why anyone would choose to go to Carnforth (I'm there for work once a year)

Currently nearing the end of a major modernisation to a very high standard. Its traditional character is maintained but the facilities are all modern. Very comfortable nights stay in a room, with a shower only ensuite bathroom, lovely power shower. Very friendly and warm welcome from owners who actively run the hotel. Evening meal and breakfast both delicious. Ideal base for touring the nearby coast, RSPB Reserve and Lake District and also local Brief Encounter museum across the road. Free parking on street outside abd pay car park next door at station. Note, if you have mobility concerns that it is a three storey building and currently stairs only pending fitting of a lift. No bedrooms on ground floor.
