I would unfortunately not be able to recommend that anyone should use this establishment to look after their vehicle. In 2016, I had my car serviced by them, but it was too early for the MOT to be performed, a few weeks later I took my car to a local place that only performs MOTs and obviously expected that I would be able to pass. Unfortunately it was an instant fail as the brake pads were completely worn through. I cannot see how it is possible for brake pads to go from acceptable to 'should have been replaced months ago' in a few weeks. It would appear that the brake pads were never checked at the service. In December I went back for my next service (one has to wonder why I made the choice to go back there, but i suppose that that is my own stupidity), at the service a noise was detected and I was advised that I would have to book the car in on a separate day for this to be investigated. I duly did this. less than 12 minutes after leaving the garage I was phone to be told that the drive belt would need replacing. I don't understand how the problem could be found so quickly on this day when it couldn't be traced on the day that the service was done? Is this simply so that another fee can be charged? I gave permission for the work to be done and duly collected my car. It still makes the noise that had been there after the service, but now makes a new noise too when switching the car off. I have asked that they look at it again on the next day that I can once again take leave from work in order to take the car in, but despite giving 8 days of notice, they are not able to accommodate me. Logically as I have already paid them for the work which they clearly cannot do, it doesn't really make sense to go back to them and I will be using a different establishment in future. Sadly I also have to note that since they worked on my car 3 weeks ago, the windscreen washers no longer work. Obviously this could be a coincidence, but it does seem odd that every time they touch my car something goes wrong with it. Please also note that unlike every other main dealer for other brands that i have used through the years, they will never offer a courtesy car or a lift to the station. I have never actually asked for either, but I do find it other that other Main dealers have always offered this and they have not. After you use this garage they will always phone you up after a few days and ask you to give them 10 out of 10 if you are sent a random questionnaire. It is unclear to me who would be sending this, but my grading would obviously have to be based on their extremely poor service and not on the fact that they ask me to give them a high rating! The only reason I have given them one star is because there is no option to give them no stars at all!

As with all main dealerships repair cost will be high, though the professional service and speedy repair (three days ahead of given date) made the additional costs worth the visit.

I phoned the parts department to ask about a replacement locking wheel nut (it wasnt with the car when I brought it). I was told there was no way of getting one and that I had to go elsewhere and get them "smashed off", then go back and buy a new set. I questioned this and said surely my Reg number and details on log book would give all the information needed ?. I was told this was not the case. I made a call to Hidsons Vauxhall who asked me for my Reg number and if possible e-mail a photo of the wheel nut, which I did. Then 2 days later I get a replacement wheel nut. Why couldnt Brian in the parts department at Strood have been more helpful ??
