Came here for a joint birthday celebration for 2 of my sisters. Restaurant is stuffy, old-fashioned and outdated. We were led into a room where we had drinks and canapes. I immediately felt sick which got worse throughout the evening...until I was violently sick in the toilets. All staff were aware, as I had to leave the table often enough. I asked that no more food be brought to the table, of which I was told that someone else on the table could eat it. The food itself was gross. Anyone who serves raw fish on a blind menu is stupid. The chef clearly cooks for himself rather than his diners. The dishes looked good but were not satisfying. We all went for the nine course menu. I only ate about 3 of them and was charged for the full 9. The service was overbearing. The price was too expensive for the food on the plate. Not sure why it is was so expensive, a little bit baffled on that one! Almost every dish was fish. Also, when most of the table asked for the venison to be cooked well-done, that is exactly what we expected. I do not expect the chef to cook it how he thinks it should be served. He blatantly ignored the requests for well-done venison, not that that would have saved the dish because it was bland anyway. Two of the puddings were virtually the same. I then watched on as everyone had cheese for the final course. I have never known a server be so stingy with the cheese! He guarded it like it was his long lost treasure! Expectations were high because of the price, which is the only thing you can go on because it's a blind menu. My advice, take your money and eat elsewhere, I wouldn't risk getting food poisoning.

Enjoyed the tasting menu lunch here. Excellent food and service. Really enjoyed it.
