Had a really nice lunch there today. Staff were very friendly. Service was good although could have done with being a bit quicker. The smoked salmon salad was really nice and loved it. I had a bit of a problem with the beef and it wasn't cooked enough for me so I couldn't eat it all. To be fair it did say on the menu it was cooked medium but I would have classed that as medium-rare looking at it. I won't get beef again for this reason but the rest of it was really nice. I had the sticky toffee pudding for desert and this was really nice. Also they have a good cider on draft which is good! Would recommend this place and will visit again to try something else off the menu!

I had the roast beef today. The best I've ever had, cooked to perfection , gorgeous roast potatoes and massive Yorkshire pudding. My husband is vegetarian and had the truffle and mushroom macaroni, which he thoroughly enjoyed. We took our dog with us, it's great to find somewhere so good willing to accept dogs. Great anniversary lunch. Great staff and amazing food and service. We'll definitely be making this a regular outing.

Stayed over at Hope & Anchor for my birthday on Friday 23rd June 2017, the room we had was beautiful (called Pebbly Beach). The meal was absolutely lovely and they made me a special birthday pudding which was delicious. The waitress, Emma, was really attentive and lovely to talk to, I noticed she was really polite and approachable to all who dined there. I would definitely recommend this place to all who want a special treat for their partner. I felt the price warranted the quality of the food so I have no complaints whatsoever and will look forward to returning.

Weve been for meals before...always excellent food. Last night we came for our 10th wedding anniversary and stayed over in one of the rooms. Absolutely fantastic. Staff were lovely and nothing too much trouble. Can highly recommend.

We popped in on the off chance that they could seat a family of 4 as we were on route to somewhere else. Arrived at 530 on a Saturday tea time. First time for me and I really enjoyed the mussels cooked in tomato, chorizo and cider followed by a boozy black forest gateau! Childrens meals were tasty but about £2 over price for a main. Husband was a little underwhelmed by his burger ~ smaller than the usual places but tasty none the less. Staff were very attentive, knowledeable and polite. Atmosphere felt relaxed. Lovely glass of wine too!
