Stopped by here by chance, wasn’t overwhelmed. The beer was pretty good, food was pretty good, service was pretty good. I did love the outdoor seating vibes they had. Both pates we ordered were very similar only difference was the protein chosen. Great place to stop for just a drink.
Food was okay. Drinks were good. Service was alright. Not a bad stop, but not a great stop. The building is nice and well decorated. I really enjoyed the outdoor seating experience. Would go back for a drink!
Truly a lovely place for a pint or proper pub food. The fish and chips might be the best I’ve ever had - light and crispy and with a full fresh moist cod filet, hot, a perfect balance of flavours and textures, and elegant presentation. The chips were also perfectly crisp on the outside while hot and tender on the inside. The staff was lively, friendly, and attentive. The atmosphere was quaint and comfy and the bar itself makes for a well-rounded pub experience. Highly recommend!
Notting Hill Gate  £5.85 Pravha A charming old world West London pub. . The Windsor Castle is located in a peaceful street in upmarket Kensington. Agatha Christie lived just around the corner, I’m not sure if she ever popped in for sherry after scribing a novel but I would love to think she did. The nearest tube is Notting Hill Gate which is a five minute amble away. . This pub was built in 1830 and is Grade II listed. The building wouldn’t look out of place in a rural village and is unlike any other pub facade in London. . The interior of this pub has a Dickensian feel and is full of old world charm. There are beautiful Georgian wall panels throughout and be careful to watch your head on the partitions between bars. There are loads of comfy nooks and crannies to plot up in around the four different areas around the bar. At the back of the pub is a large covered beer garden for whatever the weather. . The beer choice is good, there were the usual suspects, a few craft options and cask for the cultured imbiber. My beer was ok, it had a bit of a twang but I’m not one to complain and necked it soon enough. Dining here is quite the intimate affair, the menu is pub classics, good old Fish & Chips costs £17. . The clientele was a mix of tourists checking out ye olde London pub and well to do locals. The atmosphere here was convivial and relaxed. The staff were very efficient, they were ran off their feet running food to tables inside and out to the garden. . The @windsorcastlew8 is full of old world charm and an intimate pub experience. I would definitely recommend a visit here and bring your other half, they will love it. . ℹ Info correct on visiting 26/11/22
Sam Smiths pubs so you pretty much know what your getting. The stout is nice. My Mrs worked here many many moons ago, hence our visit.
Windsor Castle Kensington / Notting Hill Not much to see from the outside other than glowing windows, but thus is actually a great pub. Inside is a series of small rooms with low ceilings and lighting to match. They're split up in some cases by dividing panels with doors just the right size for a child. Reasonable choice, three four ales whdn they're all working. ℹ The pub closed for a refurb a while back and I'm pleased to see it has been a very gentle one. ‍ My view: Great pub after a wonder through Notting Hill and Portobello Road. Find a snug and settle in for some food, beer and people watching.
Loved this place lots of seating both inside and out. The garden is great with lots of heaters and ambient lighting. Perfect place to relax. The staff are so lovely you cant help but feel welcome. Would definitely recommend. Food looks delicious though just a prosecco pit stop for us this time
First Class Pub! Visited twice on our trip to London, once for a cheeky late afternoon drink & lunch and again, for their Christmas Day lunch. The food is top-notch and obviously they have some fantastic kitchen staff, the bar staff are all lovely too, welcoming & friendly - don’t hesitate to visit! Thanks for the great hospitality:
Amazing moment at The Windsor Castle! Very friendly staff and lovely atmosphere. The food is also tasty and flavorful
Beautiful Garden Pub. I had a great experience there; the service and quality both exceeded the expectations.
