Considering this place is in a busy station and a lot of the clientele are just passing through, the choice and quality of their Fuller's and guest ales is remarkable. Well deserved Camra Award.
Nice setup, good food and quick service. Had the fish and chips for lunch, which was well cooked. Fish portion was big for lunch, not too bad at £14. A smaller lunch portion for £7-£10 would be good. Has an arrivals and departures board in the pub too.
Nice premises but they levy a service charge even on those dining alone. Suddenly a breakfast creeps up even further in price. Negatives: Only one slice of toast, a rather hard sausage, coffee extra. Disappointed at that. Positives: nice tomato, tasty pudding and the beans came in their own container.
Nice place to have a drink try the Meantime IPA and eat quality food, whilst waiting for a train from Paddington railway station home to Bristol. Lovely, friendly staff too
Was an hour early for my train so stopped for a pint and a sandwich. Good beer, friendly staff and a pretty good sandwich.
Great size portions. Lamb shank was tender and very tasty. Excellent chicken bacon sandwich with all sorts of great additions inside. Good quality home made chips and fast service for such a busy pub. Would definately return.
Long day travelling and all I wanted was a hearty meal. And here I got one.
