What a lovely quaint pub, great atmosphere and service. Defo visit again

Fantastic place and varied selection of real ales, all well looked after, proper pub and dogs welcome too. Received a very warm welcome from Fraser and Holly, will definitely visit again. Great place to have a pint or two and explore the beutiful Shibden Valley

This is the pub I will go in from now on the bar tender was very welcoming the pub was very clean the lager was spot on will be going in soon

This place is great. Started off with a decent pint of Phoenix then moved on to the Timothy Taylor's Boltmaker which was also excellent. Third pint was a Wainwrights which was off so took it back to the bar. Landlord said do I 'want to have a lemonade instead' offers me a taster of another beer before I can order it as I 'may not like the taste' . Passive aggressive legend. He wouldn't even try the Wainwright to taste how bad it was. Just said smells ok then disappeared off and goes to change the barrel anyway lol Anyway the beers are mostly tasty and if it's not then the Landlord can tell you the 'customer's always right' offer you 'a lemonade instead' before pouring the vinegar tasting beer down the sink and make you feel guilty for expecting beer that isn't off! Still definitely going again to this place for a few more and hopefully witness some grumpy landlord behaviour again next time. Atmosphere = PROPER. PUB.

Friendly atmosphere and great ale's

Visited recently for drinks on a Saturday evening. Lovely pub and very welcoming. Reasonably priced drinks and the staff very chatty and the overall atmosphere is very chilled. Will definitely visit again.
