It's almost as though they're not in the hospitality trade. We were turned away from an empty dining room at midday with tables marked Reserved 14:30.nnWe had a lovely Sunday roast over the river at the Hope and Anchor instead, who said they could fit us in, but they'd need the table back in an hour, which suited us fine. An easy £50 between bookings.
Nice place for a Sunday lunch after a long drive to Wye Valley from Kent. Nice ambiance with the locals and our roast dinners were tasty, overall good value and just what we needed. It was a beautiful sunny day and next time we come we’ll have a relaxing drink outside along the river.
What a charming and friendly pub. I came to the White Lion for Sunday lunch, we were greeted by friendly and welcoming staff. The food was outstanding! I'd go as far as to say it was the best pork Sunday roast I've ever had from a pub. The portion size was generous and everything was cooked to perfection. Highly recommend

Where to start. I visited this place for the first time yesterday and wow, what an amazing place nSituated right by the river with a fantastic beer garden and amazing views, the perfect place to watch the world go by with a pint and some tasty food. The staff were amazingly friendly, attentive and did the upmost to make sure we had a fantastic time there. The food options were great and tasted delicious nnPlenty of guesthouses to stay in with just a few minutes walk from the bar or they have their own accommodations available with views over the river Wye.nnI will definitely be planning a visit again soon, even if it gets a bit colder they had a lovely spacious inside area to the bar as well.nnThanks for a great evening
