Absolutely fantastic place. Only stayed one night but everything was excellent. Room was large and warm. Evening meal was exceptional, breakfast gorgeous, staff really friendly and all dog friendly. Great night away and all for a fantastic price. We hadn't stayed here for about 15 years even though we'd been in the bar many times but will always look at staying here when in Ross in the future.
We very much enjoyed a 2 night stay at the Kings Head. The adventure of staying in a very old pub in the centre of town. It took us a couple of laps of the Ross High street to find the parking entrance and with some precision driving we got in to the car park down a narrow walk way. Parking is a bit limited some evenings but there is also a public parking area at the rear of this. Reception was warm friendly and helpful. Our room was at the top of 4 flights of a steep spiral staircase so the 20 kg suitcases stayed in the car. Room was very clean with views into the High street. En-suite bathroom clean a functional. Room was quiet but a bit of early morning activity could be heard in the street. The bar and dining downstairs can get busy but is worth having a couple of drinks and dinner at good prices. Breakfast was included with a hot traditional or lighter options. They certainly have excellent coffee here compared to other breakfasts I have had in the UK. Ross I a great location to explore from and has many quaint shops in the street. Overall excellent value for money.
Six of us went to Ross to catch the Christmas market and stayed the Saturday night on to Sunday. Quirky pub lovely rooms with everything you need, leave your spirit level at home. Really old building with heaps of character and superb bar. Lovely and comfortable, staff cant do enough for you and very polite. Would certainly stay again. Pub is situated in the town centre close to restaurants and other venues. Rooms were a good size and really clean. If you like historic buildings then this is the overnighter for you. Breakfast was superb.
Lovely dinner, lovely staff, nice rooms.nnVegetarian and Vegan options.nAnd made us feel special on our friends birthday even though they were busy.nnLovely historic well in the restaurant.
Had some food. Not lots of veggies. Tasty, but could’ve done with twice the amount. Starter was good, good condiments. Respect to the waiters.nDogs allowed. They even let them behind the bar…
