Standing high above the horseshoe bend of the river Wye, The Royal enjoys some of the best views of the surrounding countryside. This majestic Grade II Georgian country hotel is midway between Cardiff, Birmingham, Hereford and Gloucester, making it the perfect meeting place, as well as a great base from which to explore Ross and the historic sites, magnificent gardens, ancient towns, and natural beauty of the Wye Valley.

Restaurant 4* Breakfast5*, hotel has plenty of great atmosphere, bedrooms just average but the bed itself wonderful, really comfortable. Creaky floorboards on every move but I suppose that comes with the age of the building??? " staff overall were excellent

Wonderfully place, such a view to die for. Good old fashioned place, comfortable with good food and good service, like the old days. Not many left like it now. Pity.

Food is not great even by greene king standards. Overpriced and under seasoned meagreness offerings.

Lovely food and fast and friendly service! Didnt do an overnight stay so can't contribute about any of the accommodation but it's a very tidy and clean place and I will be returning for the restaurant in the near future. The staff were very helpful and offered to put hot food on cooler plates for my little girl which is always a nice gesture. Would highly recommend.

Stayed for two nights at the Royal Hotel in Ross on wye lovely stay staff very friendly and welcoming from the receptionists to the manageress could not fault it breakfast both mornings lovely cooked just right
