Absolutely loved everything about this place. They fit 14 of us in even though we hadn't booked and the meals were incredible. My lamb shank was out of this world. Service great as well. Will definitely visit again.

A superb pub with a great range of beers. In addition, they have a fantastic menu and the food is superb. The roaring fire makes you want to stay all day and settle in for a session, especially when the weather outside is cold and drizzly. One of the best pubs in Hebden Bridge - I highly recommend it!

Great pub. Staff very friendly. Choice of real ales, well kept. Wife said the Riocha was gorgeous. Lovely food. We sat by the fire for a couple of hours supping and enjoying an excellent cheeseboard. Very relaxing. Definitely visit again next time in Hebden.

It is very well located in the centre of Hebden Bridge - a lovely, boutiquey tourist town; and the service was great! The food all came very fast and was delicious, and the waiting staff were very cheerful and polite. I would definitely come here again.

This was possibly the worst meal I’ve ever eaten. Over cooked vegetables that were inedible and terribly bland .. over boiled and unseasoned. Chicken was dry and no goats cheese present as described in the menu. However when I complained to the member of serving staff that the food was not good and very over cooked she was very rude and dismissive, exclaiming that another customer had ‘eaten his all up’! I’m not a fussy eater and never complain in restaurants so to then be patronised rudely by a member of staff for an inedible and downright overpriced meal was not acceptable. No apology was made nor was this terrible meal deducted from the menu. In addition to this my husband’s vegetables were cold in the middle but we didn’t get chance to bring this issue up as we felt like we’d just be ignored so we paid and left just to get out of an environment where the staff were dismissive and rude and made us feel uncomfortable about a disgusting meal. I can’t believe we handed money over for it. Would not go again, overpriced, terrible food, and dismissive rude staff. Go to The Old Gate instead.
