When I arrived there was a pleasant Girl serving who was friendly. The soup was lovely, after the food I went to sit at the bar. The Chef told me the Queen of Thailand had passed away the day before, and I expressed my condolences explaining I felt for her remembering when our Queen passed away. She then went into I can only call an attack about our Queen, everything I tried to say she would not listen, bringing up Diana etc. Totally uncalled for in my opinion. Then she went off I think she said for a cigarette. I managed to get a little conversation out of the lad behind the bar, think he said he was Polish. He also said he was going for a cigarette, I said if anyone comes I let them know you won't be long. Some people did, and he returned straight away. After that he was more interested in his mobile phone, even reading messages whilst pulling pints for people. One man pointedly said 'when you are ready' but he didn't pick up the vibes. So I would say the food was good, but the service severely lacking. This was Saturday evening and by the time I left about 9 there were not many people in the pub, which to be honest didn't surprise me. Shame really.
We like to come here to eat and drink after a day of foraging. It's nice and cozy, you can actually talk without music drowning out conversation. Staff are nice and friendly.
We had a great stay at the Cross Inn Hotel. The room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast included was very good with a nice variety. The customer service was excellent—staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. The price was reasonable for the quality offered. Overall, a solid choice and good value for money.
Superb Thai food. Excellent menu and well priced. I had the evil spicy garlic ribs and they were delicious my wife's green curry was spicy and full of wonderful flavours. Very satisfying meal. Thought the pint of Jaipur was delicious also
Very noisy even after pub closing time, and very early in the morning when we were woken by what sounded like cutlery being tipped into a bath. Barely slept. The service was unfriendly and we had trouble getting our bikes back in the morning after locking them in the 'barn' the night before. We did have a good walk in the surrounding hills.
