This was my favourite spoons on the Wirral. Good food, lively atmosphere and fairly quick service. Small beer garden that can be a sun trap. Close to the train stationFood: 4/5
One of the better Wetherspoons in my opinion. Service at the bar is always good, even when the staff are under pressure to serve lots of customers. We've eaten here quite a few times and we've always been impressed by the quality and quantity, especially for the bargain prices. Staff are clearly always very busy, but we always get treated well and with respect. Obviously the main attraction is the cut price drinks, but the good food and excellent staff make this place. We'll be back soon no doubt.
Completely different from the previous night at the claireville, can’t rate food because I didn’t have any and despite only being 4 customers all night they still closed the bar on time and were not in a rush to get us out! Toilets are well looked after and I recommend a member of bar staff for an award for knowing his customers needs and the ability to remember the customers orders.
First visited Dec '19 :Visited about 10am on Christmas eve. It was quiet, ordered a traditional breakfast and an American breakfast. 10 minute wait which is acceptable but it seems mine was left out while my wife's was still being cooked so not as hot as I would like.. As always you can't knock a spoons brekkies for the price. First time visit and would visit again. Very clean, staff always seen on the move cleaning tables quickly. *UPDATE Oct '23 : Calledbin while passing through for a quick lunch. Ordered 2 crispy chicken burgers. Arrived very quickly and also hot and they were very nice. Smaller plates than normal meals but as it was only a quick lunch snack it was still a good size. Quite busy but it's a spoons so execpected. Great food & great service . Parking: As it is situated on a busy high street there is free parking on both sides of the road but need to be lucky and find a spot Wheelchair accessibility: There are raised areas but also a long expanse of floor area so ample places to find a table
Always good value, food an drinks excellent for the price. One of the brightest Wetherspoons, some others are so dark! ! Lovely outside space, both in front an nice garden seating out back. Staff really helpful and efficient.Food: 4/5
Well it’s a Wetherspoons, so you know what to expect if you have ever been to one before. We went for breakfast two days on the run whilst staying at a hotel in Hoylake. The traditional breakfast was nicely cooked and served on a hot plate which is good. Had refill hot drinks which were also good. There were lots of different seating options, we chose cosy areas. As always, there was some nice local history to look at on the walls and the one off carpet to admire for those of you that don’t know this, the carpets are made especially for each pub. The staff were lovely guys one of which actually noticed that we were back for a second day.
Go here regularly and always a warm welcome ...Great staff and fabulous locals ...I love the coffee and at 1.04p and free top ups it is a real winner Food: 5/5
Big long room + setting out side at front + beer garden at the rear. Pub clean .crisp.bright .8 pulls 4 real ales on all good happy staff. Standard spoons menu.
Stopped off here whilst visiting family nearby. Needed a quick and cheerful meal, so this was ideal. The usual fast service and perfectly reasonable meal. They might not win a Michelin Star, but it’s quick and cheap, so can’t grumble. Good range of food and drinks.Food: 5/5
I have come up for the weekend from Hampshire to visit my grandma and we came for lunch here today. I am beyond impressed, I had a small cod and chips with curry sauce and bread what a meal it was. My grandma had a wonderful jacket potatoe with salad and she enjoyed it so much. I can’t wait to visit again when I’m back up this way. Staff are attentive and friendly and the atmosphere is great. Thanks again guys
