This place was quite amazing. Looks like the inside of a Lord of the Rings pub in Bree. Multiple levels and staircases and different seating platforms with live music stage in the middle. One wall aligned with a pipe organ! Absolutely a spectacular place to go. If you like music and beer. I didn't get to try the food because I got there after the kitchen closed, but I would recommend this place full-throatedly. Easily the most interesting place I've been to in Glasgow. The Guinness was perfect.
What a place! It reminds me of the moving stairs from Harry Potter - such a maze! We came there just for a pint, so I can't say anything about the food but the atmosphere is amazing. I'm sure it's a great place to go out, especially if there's a live band playing. I wouldn't want to be drunk there though - I'd definitely get lost! Service: 5/5
This place has an immediate impact the moment you walk in the door. You know it's a different sort of place. Staff are smartly dressed and the whole place is a mixture of high class and old church quirky. Used a Google search to find this one and it definitely didn't disappoint! 3 levels and something everywhere you look.Food: 5/5
Such a lovely pub with different bars and floors, seems like a maze. Managed to get a seat for the Euros match it was Portugal vs France. Also live music was cool. Good selection of beers Service: 5/5
This place is extra cool! It’s a maze and it’s super fun to explore and the visuals are amazing. We had a pint and two half pints, with two desserts and we liked it all. The girls singing truly had great voices. We recommend visiting it if you pass by!Food: 5/5
My first time visiting this Irish bar in the centre of Glasgow. I was surprised it was my first time here but it won’t be my last, the interior is so interesting and authentic feeling. It has lots of different floors, with small intimate rooms and bars on each of them. They have live music every night of the week so I can imagine the atmosphere being even better on a busier night and at the weekend. Obviously for a pint of Guinness and couldn’t complain at it, poured to spec as you’d expect. Cracking head and taste. I had came here after lunch but the food menu looked good as well, not very extensive but what you’d expect from a pub, and decently priced. I’ll be back for sure.
Met a friend at 4pm. Pub was cold. First staff member I encountered said "This bar's closed!". I asked if I could be directed to an open bar and he obliged. Second staff member tried to remove my half-full bottle of beer from the table as he passed. When I intervened to say I was still drinking it, he said " I thought it was empty" and walked away. No "sorry", no apology. Pub has nice decor but staff seem rude and entitled and treat customers with disdain. I suspect it is an unpleasant place to work poor management? hence low morale of staff. Other, friendlier pubs are available.
Magical Atmosphere Wide Selection of drinks Wonderully Talented Musicians You might get lost in this magical maze but it's worth it
This venue was our 3rd scheduled stop on the Glasgow Subcrawl and one we were looking forward too thanks to previous visits by some of our tour party. We turned up early Saturday afternoon on the 7th of September. A couple of our party had entered ahead of us. As the rest of us approached we were immediately quizzed by the door staff. Not the warm Irish welcome that we expected! “Have you a function room booking?” was our “welcome” to the venue. Now the Glasgow Subcrawl is favoured by groups/hen parties/stag parties/staff parties/birthday celebrations and the likes. Ours was a simple 24th birthday celebration/get together and included a responsible group of young men who have remained close friends from the start of school or earlier through their football team and beyond school. A sign of their maturity was to extend their invitations to their fathers all late 40s+. 5 fathers were free to join in a weekend of valuable father and son time! Back to the answer to the door staff question, unfortunately, we did not have function room booking and were told that “I can’t let you in.” We were left quite aghast and this was made worse when the first to arrive exited and said he didn’t understand, as the place was empty! Thankfully this was our only disappointment during the sub crawl, thank you to all the establishments that welcomed us with open arms, Inn Deep, Wintersgills, Times Square, The Laurieston, The Bellrock, Kensington, Brechins, Deoch an Dorus, The Lismore and Tennent’s. Waxy o’Connor’s could learn a lot from them.
This was my first visit. It was busy being a Friday afternoon but we found a table at the back. There's a nice atmosphere and the staff were all very friendly. I've given 4 stars for service as they don't accept cash. I will definitely be backFood: 5/5
