It is a nice store for books at a reasonable price. I've always liked reading from a physical book. There is something special about buying a book and the nice smell you get when you open the pages.  I was brought up to look after the things I buy. So I always ensure the book is in perfect condition and the pages don't have any folds by pressing too hard.  The reason to buy from this store is to keep the business alive. I've tried reading from a Kindle a few times, and it wasn't a good experience. One thing is not good for your eyes, but it doesn't have a physical presence to it in your hands.  Plus, if you have a shelf at home, it will look nice with books.

I went in for some help with an incorrect online order. The staff were so helpful and extremely friendly. They contacted customer services on my behalf and even rang me 2 days later to ensure it was all sorted. While I waited I enjoyed a coffee on the lovely cafe. The shop itself has a nice relaxed feel and the staff all obviously love books as much as their customers.

Love to love this shop! Can't big up reading for kids enough! I'm so lucky to have a 10 year old  daughter 'Amber' who loves to read books. Also my special needs son 'Finley' loves sensory books. The access through the shop with "pushchair" can be... Challenging at busy times. The staff have always been amazing! However the interactive kids reading area is a huge miss!

I really enjoyed my visit here and I spent ages in the gift section where they have a large range of jigsaw puzzles, I bought one that had lots of book covers on as a Christmas gift for someone I know that loves books and jigsaws. The gift section has a big selection of gifts at reasonable prices. The store carries an excellent number of books on lots of different genres.  There are also a small amount of titles signed by the author at no extra cost.

I went into Waterstones simply because I can't go past without going in, lol. I came out with a book for my first granddaughter who is due at the beginning of February next year. I just love Waterstones and always end up buying something. The store in the Metro Centre at Gateshead is wonderful and goes a lot further back than you'd think with all the usual fantastic,  beautiful  books, games, and gifts that make my heart soar. I just love visiting Waterstones!

Small cafe space within a bookshop, but well worth a visit. Good range of teas and coffees and the staff are pleasant and if it's not too busy, will bring your order to your table.

Good range of books plus they have a lovely cafe for cakes and coffee. Lovely atmosphere. Great for kids.

Love the smell of new books and a great selection of books they also have a coffee shop so  you can get a great cup of tea staff very friendly and always helpful.

Great place, however they didn’t have the book we was looking for, the staff looked everywhere the computer said 4 in stock but after searching for the book, the staff was unable to get the book.  We ended up buying Harry Potter, but this was a let down. Ended up using amazon

I love going into a traditional book store, browsing through a selection of novels.  Staff are super helpful too
