Highly recommend dinner here. We had four main courses amongst us, all absolutely spot on. Appreciated the flexibility from the kitchen on bacon instead of black pudding in my burger. Mussels fresh, sauce well executed and the steak and ale pie superb. The No Bullbasically Sunday roast meat was a bit tough, the only minor point of improvement. Service very good as well, topped off with great dessert and Gaelic coffee. Thanks for a great evening!
Such a nice place with extremely friendly staff and amazing food! Good selection of draught beers and spirit all around. Food was rich as flavour and to the eyes, well combined, fresh ingredients and passion to cook it. You can aspects to get all of these positive experiences in a prestigious restaurant, but here in Inverness you can get it with a very affordable price. Overall the experience has been much better than the expectations. 2 pints of Scottish beers, small water, 2 starters, 2 mains and 1 dessert with a complimentary bread and butter was less then 65£! Absolutely to try if you are around
Great place for Sunday Roast. Good selection of whisky and very reasonably priced. From the sound of things it it’s a local spot. The “Sunday Special” is a lunch special only. Would have been 4 stars except we seem to have been forgotten for almost a full 30 minutes after we asked for the check.Recommended dishesRoast Beef
Visited here three times in quick succession, very friendly staff and great service. I have the Highland Mixed Grill, the Cullen Skink, Scottish mussels and the Highland burger, across each visit and all were absolutely amazing and very well priced too. Located just over the river from the town centre, it is definitely well worth a visit.
After a long day of flying, I was tempted to just go straight to sleep but saw this was just a few minute walk from where I was staying. I ended up ordering the fish and chips and it was pretty good, especially with the sauce it was served with. The people were very nice which was appreciated and unexpected! I was soon to find out this was how majority, if not all, were the entire time I was in Scotland. So thank you for the first meal there! It was a good one.
I had steamed mussels. The flavour was nice but way too sweet for my liking. The mussels didnt taste that fresh, very disappointing. I tried the smoke haddock dish and it was not bad. The fish was salty but very tender. The blackbudding was a bit sour which for me didn't work. The sauce was sweet that matched the fish well. The carrot and coriander soup was OK. Haggis was nice. A bit dry on its own so the sauce did the trick. The sauce was a good match. The bread was a let down. The service however was great.
Food was amazing but the serving staff could have been a little less hasty with their service. It felt like the food was being thrown at us rather than us being served in a nice restaurant. It was the last night of our holiday and although we enjoyed the meal it wasn't the greatest experience for that reason.
Posh fish and chips were delicious! Nice fresh fish, crispy batter. Complementary bread rolls were a nice touch too. Whisky flights were a great way to try some of the local produce. Service was helpful and attentive, thank you!Recommended dishesPosh Fish and Chips
What a lovely welcome to Inverness and meal, we had. I must say that these locals are the friendliest in the whole country - never have we ever had a meal bought for us, a bill “taken care of” - a gesture simply for engaging in conversation? If this is the type of clientele who frequent this establishment, I would recommend it 10 times out of 10. As to the service and food itself, it was very very good - and plentiful - loved the oat cakes and fresh scottish smoked salmon especially, as well as roast beef - please go support this local bar, they make really good food and drink - and will make you feel like a local and right at home.
Food is fabulous! Chef Craig has developed his own recipes and the quality was spectacular. We were only in Inverness two nights and ate here both nights breaking our travel rule to eat at different establishments. A true Scotish dining experience with a charming pub atmosphere. The food came fast and was piping hot and the service was impressive. We loved our waitress Kerry . Do yourself a favor and dine here.
