Despite a great band performing on a Saturday night, there was little or no atmosphere. The venue is great and the bar staff are friendly .nMy personal gripes were being asked if you're a member every time you order a drink and knowing that you're paying more for drinks than members despite the fact that you bought tickets and members stroll in free?nBecause of this it smacked of Freemasonry to me, despite the supposed left leanings of the club.nI hope the management strive for equality and realise welcoming people starts with charging them the same, and not just a sign on the wall.nI hope the club eventually fairly represents the whole Walthamstow community, but on first impressions they have some work to do.nGood luck Walthamstow Trades Hall, if you get it right, you'll be a real asset to the community.
We visited for the first time for “Jazz at Trades” with some excellent musicians. It was in the small upstairs bar apparently they usually play downstairs, but a big name comedy act stole that room.nThe sound was excellent, good beer, good price entry - essentially pay what you can afford. Musicians were all great and personable too. We hung out in the main room downstairs after which had a great vibe. Proper multicultural London. Love it.
Always a great local venue and a safe place for all - we at the northern soul night - but also go the quiz night on a Sunday
Fantastic place. Always love events here.nStaff are friendly and as a member, beers are cheap! What isn't there to like?
It's a working man's pub in effect. Lovely staff and customers. Went to watch a live book launch by DJ Pauline. Wonderful, powerful and talented black female DJ who has traveled the world. Great opportunity to meet her afterwards at the book signing. Drinks are cheaper if you have a Membership, however pints are about £5. Very reasonable. Nice place that holds a lot of functions.
