As a first time visitor to Dancing in the Dark and solo fifty-something American, I didn’t feel out of place at all. Many friendly ladies and gents to dance with. I do recommend music earplugs - measured avg 95db - and minimal attire, as it gets very hot I think there is AC above the bar? But it's pretty anemic.
Moth Club is a great venue currently threatened to be closed down by gready promoters. Don't miss an opportunity to go there and support them. It's a very special place between a Man's club and a glittery cabaret : with an awesome programme. It's all about connection. Very nice crowd. People can chat after the gigs, you don't get rushed out. I've seen amazing psych rock gigs here. Long live Moth Club!
Nice converted working men’s club, just like going back in time. You don’t need hundreds of people in the main room to have a great atmosphere
Great little low-key social club venue. Saw Ben Watt and Tracey Thorn there in October for one of the best nights of my life. Great PA system. Great atmosphere. Very affordable tickets.
That most intriguing of British phenomena - the sort of place you refer to as a 'bit of an institution'. I saw the excellent Paul Foot here a couple of years ago and it was one the most peerless nights of comedy I've ever seen. Old school venue with a good track record for great acts and music.
