We have virtually had to stop shopping here unless on foot. The very limited number of child & parent spaces seem to be permanently taken up by elderly people with attitude and tradesmen. They are also badly positioned on the exit route, with cars oblivious of other people’s safety competing to get out, and a steady stream of pedestrians walking to and from the shop. So even if you do miraculously get a space, you can’t get back out of it.
UPDATE! They just done it again! See the photo's! Today, 20th July, they've just delivered items with a best before date of 21st July tomorrow. I better use them today then! Dumping old stuff on home delivery customers is obviously store policy. This happens EVERY week. Sometimes stuff is out of date the day it is delivered. And not just 'best before' dates', they do it with 'use by' dates too. For goodness sake Waitrose... Get a grip! Like others, I keep getting deliveries of near out of date produce. Today they delivered 3 items of veg were out of date tomorrow. I hope they don't make any more stupid excuses regarding their picking policy, as I've seen and heard it too many times. I'd previously stopped buying meat from them due to this. Now it looks like I'll just be buying cleaning items. Waitrose, don't bother to reply. No one believes you, and it's obviously your policy to dump old produce on your home delivery customers. Whenever I go in the store, I can ALWAYS find stuff that have a good few days left on them. So I can't believe that you can't. As I said, please don't bother replying with stupid excusex again, as usual. You've lost the business as far as food is concerned. With your prices being so expensive, I'd have thought you'd make more of an effort.
Only popped in for a couple of items, a lovely little branch with friendly staff, only ruined by the rude and inconsiderate customers, shoving you out of the way, looking over your shoulder when entering chip and pin and generally being obnoxious. Will not be returning on our stay.
Good Waitrose. But relatively small and congested. Ranges very good but parking is a bit of a pain as is fighting for your cucumber in the salad section. But decent shop overall
This branch of Waitrose is the preferred supermarket for our weekly supply of fruit, vegetables and groceries. The entrance to the car park is conveniently situated on the outskirts of the town which means that we have he minimum of traffic congestion on our journey there. There is no charge for parking for a period of up to 2 hours and it is unusual not to find a space in which to park. The quality of their fruit and vegetables in generally good and there is reasonable selection of groceries although the element of choice is restricted by the size of the store. The staff are very willing to help and one is made to feel welcome there. As card holders we enjoy the benefits of free newspapers and cups of coffee!
Plenty of trolleys and wide aisles made shopping easy and using zapper made paying quick and easy
To begin with I will say...I am not a Waitrose fan....I think the prices are over-inflated and I am not sure why anyone thinks they are a "super-store" but, while holidaying in Thame which we think is terrific we wanted a quick supper to prepare in our cottage and, having seen TV ads about all the bargains to be had these days, decided to give it a go. The entrance hall is grubby, the half empty shelves and sticky tape on various floor areas are scruffy and the only "bargains" seemed to be pet food! Looking forward to Thame market tomorrow to buy real food from real producers! adverts about the wonder Waitrose
From parking to customer service, this is a great supermarket. It stocks some unusual items including artisan breads and own brand world foods. There's a serve-yourself tea/coffee stop bring your cup and it does sandwiches. Loss of gift ideas, too, and a little homeware section.
Delivery staff are always very friendly and helpful and within the hour slot selected. I look forward to seeing them and groceries are always well packed easy to transfer to kitchen.
I do like doing my selective shopping here
