We had a fantastic experience at The Escoffier Room at The Vincent Rooms! The 7-course tasting dinner was an absolute bargain—each dish was delicious, beautifully presented, and skillfully cooked by the students. While the service was a bit shaky at times, it's important to remember that you're being served by aspiring chefs who are learning the ropes, not professional waiters. The dedication and passion they put into the food more than made up for it. It's a brilliant and unique dining experience, offering high-quality cuisine at a very reasonable price. Definitely worth a visit for those who appreciate great food and supporting the next generation of chefs! Parking: Parking spaces are limited as you are in the heart of London - right by the Buckingham Palace, but there are 7-8 on street paid parking spots right outside the college.
It’s a beautifully decorated space and the service was so lovely. Keep in mind it is students serving you, so they are learning and trying to be quite formal but for me I have zero complaints! Every bit of food was delicious and just the perfect sized meal. We did an event and rented out the room with 30 people, and it was the perfect space for this! Vegetarian options: The entire menu was half vegetarian Dietary restrictions: We had some dietary restrictions due to allergies and gestational diabetes which they accommodated so well! I think there was a mistake on the gluten allergy but they rectified it immediately and it was just the wrong plate served. Thankfully it was quite obvious as the plate had a spring roll
We went to the Brasserie for lunch on a weekday. It was very quiet inside, but despite lacking in atmosphere, we had a wonderful experience here. We were aware that these were young students in training, but this did not detract from the professionalism shown by our server. The food was lovely and well worth the very reasonable price charged. We look forward to a return visit, probably to the Escoffier room, which has a more varied menu. Great value and service.
Such a great experience, and so reasonable!! £35 for 5 courses with the whole service being run by the 2nd year students, overseen by the lecturers. The weeks are themed and I booked this German week as my husband loves the cuisine. They don't turn tables and you can only book 6-7pm on Tuesdays & Wednesdays not sure what time lunch service is. The food was really good. The wild boar schnitzel and Kirsch and chocolate dessert were standouts. A couple of dishes could've done with a little more seasoning, but hey, the quality for this price is fantastic. The service was really endearing too. The guy on the table next to us said he tries to go once a month, "support the young guys"!! I wish I could as they seem to be really booked up and we'd love to go back to see whether there is a difference towards the end of their year. Highly recommend!! Edit: we came again 6 months later and the difference is very distinct. Great to see progression, and the food was absolutely amazing.
EXCELLENT! We visited London for a week and ate out everyday. While we had some good meals, this was my favourite. Food was top-notch and the price couldn't be beat for London, anyways. Yes, service was a bit slow but that was expected given these were students in training. Their manager even came by our table to apologize for the wait. If we had more time, I would have dined here again.
Londons best kept secret. A restaurant run by trainee chef and service staff. For some out of this world cuisine this is the place to go. Been really impressed by the quality of the food.Food: 5/5
The Brasserie's food was very good, especially for the price, and the service was fun and easygoing. All wait staff and chefs are students and I love supporting that. The card you fill out at the end of the meal goes toward the students grade at the end of term. I would say the room is a bit more cavernous than I had expected, and the Escoffier Rooms look much comfier, but that's just nitpicking.
Wedding Reception at The Escoffier Room - 10/10 5 Stars! In October 2021 we got married and held our reception at The Escoffier Room - what a fantastic decision that was! From our initial enquiry with Marc Whitley restaurant manager and senior lecturer, through planning our menu and canapes with the wonderful Head Chef Jonny Jonathon Warner, choosing the wine to be served with the food, selecting the welcome drinks and even planning a photo slideshow and personalised music playlist, all the staff and students couldn’t do enough for us to ensure we had the most amazing day! My wife and I ! enjoyed a beautiful wedding day, in no small part thanks to the magnificent efforts of Marc, Jonny, and all the students at The Escoffier Room. This restaurant is a real hidden gem in the heart of London. I first took my now wife here on a date in an attempt to impress her while we were dating - little did we know that we’d return multiple times, and eventually celebrate our wedding here! Marc was incredibly helpful and attentive in the planning stages of our big day. He is experienced and confident in organising events and so brought a much needed calmness and confidence to our often last minute decision making in the build up. Marc and Jonny organised wine and menu tastings for us, showcasing the restaurants excellent selection of wines and incredible food. The food Jonny and the students produced for our wedding meal was incredible. Words cannot do it justice, you really do have to experience the delicate flavours and impeccable presentation for yourself. During our main course the father of the bride was heard to say “This food is amazing, fine dining in England isn’t dead!”. And to be honest, there wasn’t much to be heard during the canapes as our guests were busy enjoying how delicious they were! The students served our guests with a smile on their faces and professionalism in their manner. The service was top quality and worthy of any 5 star hotel restaurant in any major city of the world. We are so grateful to Marc, Jonny, the students, and all the back room staff at The Escoffier Room for looking after us so well during our wedding celebrations - thank you! xx
We ordered one starter, two mains and one dessert to share. Croquette, turbot and lamb dishes were very good. The panacotta tasted a bit too sticky and mango sauce wasn’t really fit in well but overall we had a great lunch with good services!
Went there for lunch and bsolutely loved it. We had a group of almost 50 people and the service was great. Although the staff were young they seemed to manage. The food was really nice as well. On the day I had pear pouched in muled wine for starters and cod for mains. It probably won't be the same if you go but all the food was well prepared.
