Absolute joke the gym manager Stuart payne & other staff left 5 star feedback to fool the public Instead of fixing the 2 showers next to the sauna which have needed to be fixed since February. Also the sauna & steam room always stinks which could do with a good clean. Hope the area manager comes to check the place unexpectedly rather than announcing 2 days before the visit. Please can someone higher up look into it.
Would love to join this gym as it’s local and we really like the pool, sauna and steam room. Unfortunately it’s always full of kids with only a small window each day or evenings when it’s kid-free! And it’s not just kids, it’s balls and floats and all kinds of paraphernalia! I’m really surprised as it sells itself as a health club but is more of a crèche. I can’t imagine what residents of the hotel think, especially business clients. Shame, it’s lost out on two memberships.
Visited a couple of Monday's ago as I had the day off and my gym had a pool issue so they let me visit one of the other village centres. Quite a few extra miles from my house to be honest but I'm glad I went. Great reception staff. Told me where all the bits were. Good gym. An amazing burn room, great machines that I hadn't seen before..a curled running machine, can't remember it's name...but sadly the brackets for boxing bags had broken. So the only bag was available was in the gym. And it was a small waterbag. I still had a good warm up on it. I could not find a chest press machine in the gym. :- after half an hour of resistance machines I was set for the pool. Bloomin great entrance to the pool which was ok in size..two drop pools by the side, one heated. Sadly told by staff that the steam room wasn't working as well as usual..but the sauna was superb. The changing rooms and showers were very clean..the sinks for a shave were a bit tired and dated..but so am I lol. Another fabulous village experience..having been a member since mid July I am a fan of them. Fave bits...sauna. worst bits..thinking how amazing the burn room would be with bags. Like Arnie... I'll be back
I find the staff very rude at the reception desk in the gym. When I politely asked for an explanation why they needed my DOB as I was only a guest a lady barked at me saying this was a policy of the company. When I rang to book a class, they put the phone down on me. I considered joining the gym but there is no way I will.
Rude staff! Was meant to join up with Emily, however on her day off her colleague completely messed it up and didn’t explain anything to me. Good job didn’t join this gym!
Nearly five years a member and treated by Manager absolutely disgracfully, a 30 minute argument in front of other members after number of discussions and issues regarding the same issue, of something so simple to resolve and still no resolution, a couple months back even having a problem with certain clothing not allowed in the pool area is discriminatory and not even wanting to mediate with myself and find a mutual resolution is shocking and very immature and the behaviour and attitude was rude, disrespectful shows immaturity and very very unprofessional . While Manager Stuart is in charge I would advise to steer clear of this place.
I was a member here for around a year with no issues, however I recently accidently left an expensive pair of Beats in the ladies changing room and instead of doing the normal thing and handing them in, whoever found them took it upon themselves to steal them. Completely my fault and not the gyms, however just to make others aware of the demographic of members here before you contract yourselves into a £50 per month membership!
Great little gym with good facilities, squash courts, pool, sauna, hot tub. One small complaint is the pool is always full of kids but it’s a hotel too so it’s fair enough. Staff are all really lovely and welcoming
Not bad but the tomb-like halls downstairs could use some mirrors as it triggers clustrophobia!
Pay £12.50 for a guest pass AND then £2 for a towel. Come on. Avoid Sunday, it's kids swimming lessons and non stop screaming. Hardly a relaxing spa. The sauna and steam were good and hot, the area is clean, staff are nice.
