Amazing venue, lovely vibe and the décor was on another level. The venue itself is situated on Broad Street and I will be honest, you could walk past it quite easily without noticing. However once you walk into the reception area, you know you are in for a treat. It has a waterfall, no lie. You are escorted by very well turned out and polite staff to a waiting area where you can order drinks or proceed to your designated table. Service was on point, as was the drinks and food. We ordered a variety of dishes, some of which arrived with dry ice special effects! However the effort and thought put into designing this restaurant is evident. See my photos, they explain better than words! Highly recommended restaurant. Parking: There is a multi storey car park around the corner on Tennent Street with plenty of spaces.
Me and my friends having dinner together, and since it’s my birthday, we got good seats and a lovely cake! All the staffs here are very friendly and helpful, and the food is great too.it’s definitely the best choice for celebrating birthday or date:Food: 5/5
Sophie our girl was amazing all night! Very prompt, very courteous, great service from her. The food was so lush!! Recommend it to the hills!! Food: 5/5
Was expecting a lot more in terms of food quality. Let's start with the positive..a truly unique restaurant with a grand entrance, waterfalls, waiting area with it's own bar. Then you are led downstairs to one of the biggest restaurants I have seen. Side rooms with private banqueting and areas to accomadate large groups. One can only imagine if this was full how crowded and noisy it would be. As my experience, was in a group of ten, after being seated I just felt while the staff were very freindly and helpful they had to prompted by our party to come over to take orders, bring cuttlery, menus. Considering we were there for nearly 2.5 hours I think only once did someone actually come over to see if we were in need of anything. Food: a fairly good selection of starters and mains. Lamb chops were over cooked, the King Prawns had no taste, as did the Paneer. The papri chaat was the only redeeming factor. Main courses were okay, Lamb karahi, and the Prawn malabar were very good if somewhat overpriced. Everything else was standard fare. The other issue was I felt the plates and furniture needed updating and tired. Or simply put white table cloths on. Overall, average food, in a spectacular setting but needs updating on service and food quality.
I celebrated my 40th birthday at Varanasi on the 19th Oct , and I couldn't have asked for a better experience! The staff catered perfectly to our family, with thoughtful touches for all ages, from the youngest to the oldest. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. They went above and beyond to make the celebration feel special, and their attention to detail really shone through. It was the perfect setting for a memorable day, and I can't recommend them enough for any special occasion! Special shout out to Faz and the lovely young lady apologies i have forgotten the name.
Overall, it's an experience being here at Varanasi. The decor and atmosphere is absolutely stunning. Very opulent! The food was great with a lovely range of cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks too. Very odd that Masala or some type of Indian tea is not on the menu. Why?? Very strange. The staff are friendly and helpful, but service was on the slow side especially when drinks were ordered. Plus, it's probably not the kind of place to dine with kids. Not really catered for them. Shame no WiFi in the place. But, overall, it's worth recommending Varanasi even just for the experience. Yes, it's expensive dining but it was a lovely night for my friend's birthday.
Overall very pleasant Diwali dinner. On the expensive side. Ambience is top and the service is fantastic. Tariq really looked after the three of us. Attention to detail by service team-drinks, help ordering, quickly dealing with requests. We had 3 courses plus poppadoms/chutney charge extra for each. Food was good. Not greasy, spice controlled. Appearance plating hit and miss. I expected for fine dining that presentation was key. Curry or rice in a bowl can be found anywhere in Birmingham! The smoking Ratan was more like the experience expected. We had: appetiser: mango prawn, lollipop chicken and tandoori Ratan. Meal- lamb Biriyani, varanasi chicken, and black Daal. Chicken dishes were much much better than lamb. Which is disappointing. Naan good. Daal-nothing special-in a bowl. Dessert-gulab Jamun, and mango pannacotta. The Presentation was better and the Jamun was exceptional. Overall we gave 4 stars. Service was again superb. Maybe expecting too much from Indian food presentation but for the fine dining price- needs to be more.
We had a work dinner here and honestly everything was beyond my expectations. The food was so tasty and the service was amazing! Our glasses never stayed empty, the food arrived quickly and we had a great night in general. Special thanks to Tareq and Faz who went beyond and above to make this night more enjoyable.
Restaurant amazing along with decor and interior - Can’t fault however. All together we ordered a total of 4 dishes I ordered the lamb & potatoe which came together priced at £28 the lamb was over cooked and dry even thought it did come with complimentary gravy. Another 2 dishes we had was the traditional chicken curry, again the chicken was dry and overcooked even placed in the sauce but would have nice if was tender. The chicken methi was the favourite dish as all flavours were balanced with a slight kick. Abit disappointed as the football was on so the restaurant was completely empty so they had enough time to cook and plate up. I love my meat and chicken however this was was disappointing- Over all abit pricey for the quality of dished cooked but unique menus.
Excellent food and service. We ordered a variety of dishes from lamb, chicken and seafood. Everything was really nice. We were served by Tariq and Rasel, very friendly and attentive. Dietary restrictions: Everything was halal and they catered to nut and dairy allergies.
